It's a wonderful treat when indie rocker Bob Mould and remixer Richard Morel join together to form the duo Blowoff , and their latest round of touring isn't all that long, but it hits all of the major cities. This includes a stop at New York City's Canal Room on June 25. Check out the full (very short) list of tour dates after the jump. Blowoff tour dates: May 29 - Chicago, IL - Metro Jun 12 - Washington [...]
BLOWOFF dance party with Bob Mould and Rich Morel blows up Vinyl on the Fourth of July 4

Bob Mould (of Husker Du and Sugar fame) and DJ/producer Richard Morel have been doing the Blowoff parties in the DC-area for over five years now (and the parties have also spread out to cities all over the country), but they're officially taking the circus on the road, wreaking hurricane-like havoc (smiles not destroyed homes though) everywhere they lay their anchor. Okay, so maybe it's only really NYC, DC, San Fran and Provincetown, but beggars don't equal choosers, amiright? The duo, who DJ in tandem, are known for "laying down a meaty signature [...]

Just a quickie post for the moment. I'm going to see Bob Mould this afternoon for a free at noon concert down at WXPN's World Cafe Live. I have no idea what I'm in for. Will it be new solo stuff from his album that comes out Tuesday, District Line , or the electro dance/disco music of Blowoff , or a throwback to Sugar and [...]
Philadelphia's WXPN is hosting the Xponential Music Festival , a 4-day event to be held July 19-22 at Wiggins Park in Camden, NJ. I'm hoping to go Friday night. They've got a pretty good line-up of folks, surprisingly varied. For instance, Friday I'm most interested in seeing three Philly-area bands, The A-Sides , Eastern Conference Champions , and Bitter Bitter Weeks , also Bob [...]
test *edit* Woohoo! Looks like it works. In which case: FUCK YOU, EZARCHIVE!!! We're back in business. Normal service (ie fully functioning links) will be resumed very shortly... later this week, in other words.

A plesant surprise in the form of the new self-titled BLOWOFF album was waiting for me in the mailbox Friday evening when I got home from work. Formed in late 2002, BLOWOFF started off in life as a studio collaboration between Bob Mould and house DJ guru, Richard Morel and quickly gained steam as a live event in the duo’s hometown of Washington, D.C. This has been one of my most anticipated, “will-it-ever-be-release d?†albums since 2004. Bob’s music has been a constant fixture in my life since my mid-teens and Morel’s Queen [...]
We at MML are very happy that the release date for Blowoff's album is almost upon us, and if you've heard Hormone Love, the first taste of what we can expect from this collaboration between Bob Mould and Richard Morel, you'll be very happy too. And if you've not heard it yet... what are you waiting for?? Here's the link to the song again, in case you missed it there... now go
