An oldie but a very very goodie - an excellent remix by Toronto’s very own Zeds Dead: The Blue Foundation’s Eyes On Fire turned into a smooth and slow dubsteppy track that is quickly growing on me. Definitely a good trip to listen to, especially if you’re in the right mood. Totally in love with it at the moment… Blue Foundation – Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead) SlothBoogie

I can't stop listening to that new Lil Wayne track featuring Drake I posted a couple days ago, and now I've got another song with Drake, this time i'ts a remix/mashup with Blue Foundation. The song is done by Bud Brother, and it's siiiiiick. Give it a chance, I know it sounds pretty different. Enjoy! Vitamin D140: Ingredient #4: Zeds Dead I first heard about them after I stumbled across a GDD post on them just recently, and ever since I have been uncovering some MEGA dubstep chunes. I don't know much about them other than the fact that their name comes from Pulp Fiction . These chunes pretty much do all the talking... From Ontario, Canada, Zeds Dead are producing some colossus dubstep tunes at the moment. They caught my eye back in April when I first heard the 'Gimme Shelter' remix - Since then, they've dropped a killer remix of Massive Attack 's 'Paradise Circus' and more recently, 'Eyes On the Fire' originally by Blue Foundation . Huge fan of all of the above. If I were starting a dub label, I'd move to Canada, because the quality of unsigned dubstep coming out of there right now is unreal. Check those guys out, and if you dig them, [...]

So there are some songs that start off going one way, and then completely change everything you thought was going to happen. Well that's completely the case with this sick BANGER remix of Blue Foundation's 'Eyes On Fire' done by Zeds Dead. This song starts off very slow and low key, then picks up a siiiick beat, then drops to heavy break, and turns into suuuch a siiiiick song. The beat is infectious, turn up the bass and give it a full listen through. Props to numerous readers who have submitted this track over the past couple months, but I [...]

"Who's Zed?" "Zed's Dead Baby" Blue Foundation - Eyes on Fire (Zeds Dead remix) - I first discovered this duo's tunage surfing the interwebs. It was their remix of Radiohead's Pyramid Song [ youtube link here ] that popped my cherry and beside the awesomeness and originality Zeds Dead displayed, those three words, "Zed's Dead baby" dropped in the song were taken from one of my all time favorite movies, Pulp Fiction..I was bought. So I began searching further, and so far there has been a great amount of bootlegs [...]

So I've decided to change the usual vibe for something more ambient and sensual for the hot summer nights on their way; perfect for those long nights spent on a terrace with good company. So you've got your typical slow, sensual beats like these; Drop The Other (by Emika) Down Slow (by Moby) [...]

Photography: Rona Keller According to Blue Foundation , they make "melodic dreamy pop" music. Well, whatever it is, it's beautiful. You can buy any of their albums on iTunes . Blue Foundation - End of the Day (Silence)

A s I'm sitting here trying to spruce up this site, I can't stop listening to the dark dubstep sounds of Rusko and Zed. It kind of reminds me of some tunes in the old Sega games.. but maybe it's just me. People always ask me what is dubstep? My best answer is a mix of a hip hop beat, produced like electronica and mixed with some overpowering dark, epic synth basses. Then again, I decided to look it up so you can have the real definition... Wiki says... [...]

I have to post this song. I like Star Wars, Toronto, and Dubstep way too much to ignore this perfect combination of all three. Anyone who turns Darth Vaders' famous mechanical breathing into such an insane beat deserves some major praise. Zeds Dead continue to slaughter dancefloors and make Toronto proud. If you're in Toronto make sure to catch them March 24 at Wrongbar with Caspa. Too tired to write anything serious today. As if I ever post anything remotely serious! That The Radio Dept. concert I mentioned yesterday has yet to be officially announced by either band or venue. Logically no ticket information is available. Tobias of Blue Foundation explains why Blue Foundation is called ...well... Blue Foundation . + Stuck In A Hard Place (Reworked) Still hoping [...]

Lots of nice words have already been written about the self-titled Sleep Party People debut album (exhibit 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ) and deservedly so. Adding anything to this is virtually impossible, though I cannot help being a bit baffled that the term shoegaze has been mentioned a few times. The music is indeed both dreamy and introspective, but those trademark distorted guitar sounds are really nowhere to be found. Personally I like the “modified” “electronic shoegaze” term a lot better, as [...]

Yesterday I was walking through a shopping mall and as I passed by the Parasuco store I was amazed as I heard Dubstep pounding out of the store speakers and into the mall concourse.... it occured to me at that point that there probably wasn't a bigger hit in 2009 than the anthem "In For The Kill (Skream Remix)". Needless to say it was a big year for Dubstep as the genre exploded onto the world stage. Here in Toronto we were spoiled with headliner after headliner. Promo companies like Embrace & 40 hz were busy bringing most [...]
TOP 10 Tracks of 2009 (in no particular order) 1. Tiga - What You Need (The Proxy Remix) -Proxy stands atop this list for a reason. This is a list of my personal favorites, with no consideration of anything besides what I was feeling the most this past year. Proxy is the ace in the deck - I bumped a shitty bootleg of this tune for a long time and instantly fell in love with it. @GetMeGingy linked me a horrible quality youtube video of Proxy dropping it live long [...]

Slowly but surely I'm becoming a fan of Dubstep. While the big names like Rusko and Caspa get me going on a big system at a club, I enjoy the mellow side of the genre more when I'm at home. Recently I found a remix of Blue Foundation's 'Eyes On Fire' by Toronto production duo Zeds Dead . To me, this is just about as good as it gets. It has some really nice female vocals and a chilled out, yet still grimy beat. I've been listening to this on repeat the last few days. [...]
