No ugly autopsy of harshness here, but super bright squidzella psyched foldings... choking on fast food concoctions and slippery textiles... deft hands keeping each track just tuneful enough to scream sheer genius without cramping any of that day-glo pzazz spurting through yr ears at an unquenchable rate... The whole album mainlining a pure N-ER-G that's incredibly infectious... particularly partial to the rampaging monster cut-outs that the sexy Screamin Janin B charges your mind with, but there's plenty of other tasty directions wrapped up in these eight tracks... this definitely feels like the future with a fucking massive [...]

The kind people over at Winning Sperm Party gave away 5 free EPs for our listening pleasure on Christmas Day. They're all gloriously noisy and chaotic in their own little ways. Have a listen... The last week or so has been absolutely sensational for gigs in Glasgow. Some i did make, some i didn't make and one got cancelled altogether. Over the course of 6 days from the Tuesday (14th December) to Sunday (the 19th) there were some pretty amazing shows performed and played throughout Glasgow and it's various musical locations. Below i've compiled a list of the best gigs and included MP32s (where available), videos and links. The week should have began with Civil Civic but they sadly had to cancel their gig at The 13th Note last Monday. But since [...]

Stellar OM Source - Dynamic of Here I don't mean to "blow my own horn" BUT this is pretty awesome for a small post-industrial town in Northern England amirite? Here is a list of live shows happening here in Spring/Summer thanks 2 PRMNT VIBES aka me. Not sure how many Newcastle upon Tyne readers are our there but consider this a heads up (also heads up re: new (sort of) Stellar OM Source): GOLD PANDA (LONDON) / DAM MANTLE (LONDON) / SEAMS (LONDON) / MORGELLONS (NCL) / TOTEM RECALL (NCL) / JUNEAU [...]

Sonic Sanctuary - Thursday 4th Feb - The Croft Bristol Xulsigiae's set was a grungy pleasure, even if I missed a massive chunk, Dsic spewing out the sonic dentistry, the guitarist cutting out Arto comparisons, mopping up the fuzzy edges with his fret candy and a drummer knocking the shit out of his kit - a totally head on vibe... relentless right up to the frazzled end. Following on from the above, [...]

...saw this dynamite crunching duo over in brizzol the other night, as well as branch of other melody wreckers... plenty of word pileups and splattered colours on their way... meanwhile check out this great BSBF compilation (if you haven't already).

Blue Sabbath Black Fiji From: Glasgow, Scotland The word unique is thrown around far too easily but it's the first adjective that comes to mind when you hear Black Sabbath Black Fiji. I can guarantee that you won't hear anyone like Blue Sabbath Black Fiji this year. Their sound is a genre all of it's own, a genre that hasn't been invented because you can't really have a genre for one band's sound. If you took The Jesus & Mary Chain's feedback and forced [...]
