Just this past Friday, Jay-Z released a new track to New York's Hot 97 , "Death of Autotune" and I gotta be honest here, I effing love it. This is a great, great track, one that gets me pumped and completely stoked for the upcoming Blueprint 3 . Funny to think that the last Blueprint came out when I had first moved to New York and, as I write this, it happens to be the 1st anniversary of my wedding. Man, time flies when you're having fun, right? [...]

Rjd2 is one badass dude, he released Deadringer in 2002 (one of my favorite albums of all time), and roughly one year later he released this ten track gem otherwise known as The Horror EP. Don't get me wrong, Deadringer is a multi-level musical masterpiece but I think The Horror EP is a little better. This EP has ten top tier tracks, revisits some of the best moments of Deadringer and further more, it features some of Rj's best beats. I feel as though if this was [...]

Printmatic's set this year was waaay better than last year's performance. He killed it this time around.

Although you guys don't hear my talk about Hov very much, I can assure you that he is one of my favorite emcees of all time. In my opinion The Blueprint is his shining moment as an emcee (although many would argue Reasonable Doubt is) without a doubt. This album has pristene production and Jay-Z's flow, delivery and lyrics on this album are truly top notch. I picked up this album when I was in 8th grade, and I've been bumping it ever since. Now that I look back [...]
In a move slightly more akin to his Soul Position partner, RJD2, Blueprint focuses primarily on his beats while wading through a sea of organ and soulful samples on his latest album Sign Language ...
Earlier this week, midwest hip hop saint, Kevin Beacham sent out this email announcing the end of Scribble Jam. Scribble was a Hip Hop festival in Cincy. Later this week I might post highlights that include me painting at Scribble, Eminem, MF Doom, Sage Francis, Meta4ce, Brand Nubian, RJD2,Def Jux,Atmosphere, Anticon, Blueprint and disparging comments about the females that the so-called "Queen City" has to offer. BUt until then...here is what Mr. Beacham had to say. Scribble Jam 1996-2008 First off, let me just say thank you [...]

So What Wednesday, the weekly Hip Hop night at Bourbon Street will be coming to a close tonight. Here are DJ Detox's parting words .(the night was named after Daymon Dodson aka So What) Rest In Peace Daymon Dodson Racist Joe So What! The night's been goin on for 2+ years now thanks to the support from the people of Columbus. Both from the many people that knew Daymon and some who didn't. When it comes down to it, I feel like Big Daymon would have wanted it this way. Holding [...]
How about another Illogic update? Him and Blueprint are collaborating for a new Greenhouse album. No release date, no MP3 leak, but exciting still.
I took the day off. I need a kitchen table. And when I hopped in the van - that's right a van - to go find one, there was a bank commercial on assuring me that my money was safe. Good. But the weird thing about it was that the music in the... [More after the jump...]

It will be a little longer before Blueprint's next Rhymesayer album "Adventures in Counter-Culture" hits stores. In the meantime, the Columbus rapper/producer has a couple things to hold his fans over. Print is taking pre-orders for a limited-edition instrumental album that will be availble exclusively on www.weightless.net called "Sign Language". Here is an MP3 from "Sign Language" MP3: Blueprint-Numb In case you miss Prints' words & opinions often heard in his raps, fear not. Print has also just launched a new blog called [...]

Yesterday I posted about Blueprint's upcoming instrumental album, Sign Language . Well here's a first leak from that project, titled "Numb." Only 500 copies of the album are being pressed, so it would be a good idea to go ahead and pre-order it non, as opposed to later. You can make the pre-order at the Weightless Recordings website . Blueprint: "Numb"
Stumbled upon this at the Weightless Recordings website. Here's the scoop: In 2004 Blueprint released an instrumental/downtempo album called Chamber Music on Weightless Recordings. In 2009 he will be releasing the follow-up to that album, titled Sign Language . There will only be 500 copies of this album pressed, which will be sold exclusively at weightless.net and will come with a free poster. Blueprint is super ill on the mic and the beats. You already know what to do with this one.
Rhymesayers just posted this photo slideshow to go along with the title track to Blueprint's classic (yeah, I said it) album 1988. The album came out in 2005, though, so it's honestly a little odd that they're reupping on promotion for the must-have album. Still, I can't complain. "You need to understand I'm not new to this / You rhyme for two bars and I know all your influences"

Juelz Dip Dip. Santana Set Set. Columbus rules because in one night Psychedelic Horseshit, Unholy Two, Blueprint, Envelope, The Catalyst, Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Weedsteeler all partook in New Years Eve events. After the jump it gets uncomfortable and self-indulgent. I detest New Years. The combination of contrived partying on a scheduled mixed with a benchmark date that calls for reflection is usually fairly depressing and neurotic for me. I was already leary and then I heard about some truely gnarly news about [...]

No one can say I didn't try to at least understand what Kanye was doing (or trying to at least) on 808s and Heartbreak . Even after being non-plussed after a couple listens, I still tried to give Ye the benefit of the doubt. I'll admit listening to the production on CD is a pretty dynamic workout for my modest desk speaker system, but that still doesn't make "RoboCop" any less flaming. I want to drink the neon Kool-Aid and believe anything not in auto-tune blows, but in truth this new act is [...]

Illogic is giving away a free ep called One Bar Left . It's produced by Ill Poetic . Illogic will be performing at Cafe Bourbon Street as part of the 2-year Aniversary of So What Wednesdays this week. Intricate Sunz will open. Blueprint will host. This download will show what Illogic and Ill Poetic have in store for Illogic's new album Diabolical Fun , due out on Weightless on March 24th,2009. MP3: Illogic:One Bar Left Ep If you want to buy the [...]

Also in town is the Atmosphere Paint The Nation Tour featuring Abstract Rude, Blueprint, and DJ Rare Groove at Rams Head Live.
