We've been watching the proliferation of music festivals in Florida over the last few years with great interest and this morning a new player has emerged in the form of the inaugural Orlando Calling festival. Natives of Sparta, New Jersey, and veteran rockers, From Good Homes, will be playing two shows this weekend as a part of their residency at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey. After achieving success throughout the 1980's and early 1990's the band split up due to artistic differences. The band was able to achieve mainstream success and several record deals with RCA due to extensive touring and a unique and soulful sound. New Jersey-bred jam legends Blues Traveler came to Brooklyn Bowl this past weekend for a pair of sold out performances at our favorite venue in New York City. The shows were a homecoming of sorts for the band, which cut its proverbial teeth at joints like the Wetlands Preserve and Nightingale's during the late '80s and early '90s before finding commercial success. Founded in Princeton, New Jersey in 1987 the jam band Blues Traveler has played Austin's ACL Festival many times, and this year we were invited to shoot their ACL aftershow at La Zona Rosa.
