Saturday night at El Rey in Los Angeles was packed, and with good reason given the artist line-up! As you can see from the photos below, there was a spectacle of fashion at the show. That's usually the case with events by The Do Lab though: lots of unique outfits that you don't see every day. It was a fun night with great energy. On the music, we had never heard dubstep made in real-time before, but that's what Eoto brought to the table, alongside other electronic genres. It wasn't your stereotypical dubstep though. Not really as fast-paced [...]

My first Camp Bisco outing was this past weekend, and it just happened to be the ten-year anniversary. That meant big names and monumental performances for sunny Mariaville, New York. The festival, aggregated around the popular electronic jam band The Disco Biscuits, took place in upstate New York on the beautiful Indian Lookout Country Club. Getting into the festival was a bit of a hassle, but once inside, you knew you had reached wonderland-A modern Woodstock. You'd have to go to see for yourself just how deep the rabbit hole goes, but I'll do my best to convey to you [...]

Dick found a new favorite artist to hype, so strap on your dancing shoes and turn up the volume. After several recommendations from like-minded peers, I finally got my hands on something Bluetech. After listening to his track Seed to Soil , I knew I had found something timeless, epic, awesome. Bluetech's music is organic, glitchy, and tribal all at once-a powerful combination, considering his downtempo proclivities. I always hype the downtempo; its just got a feel to me that other EDM is lacking. Bluetech's sound is ambient and progressive all at the same time. The percussion, [...]
Bluetech is back with a particularly enjoyable new release, Love Songs to the Source. In addition to having the best album art I've seen in a long time, the album also features some of the nicest ambient dub I've...
I am surprised it took this long for me to find Heyoka. Dubstep can be too dark and aggressive for my tastes, but artists like Heyoka, Bluetech and others are hitting the sweet spot with music that is head knodding, atmospheric/psychedelic and danceable at the same time. The mixture of dub, hip hop [...]

Dubstep, breaks and glitch are genres dear to my heart, but I feel like everyone is competing to be the hardest, loudest, glitchiest, bassiest, most Mountain Dew extreme and losing the melody and soul along the way. The appeal of broken up beats and deep bass is clear next to most monotonous 4 on [...]
Bluetech may not be breaking much new ground on his new release, The Divine Invasion, but I nevertheless appreciate another dose of this kind of old school ambient IDM. It's a sound that has faded into the rearview mirror a...
It's been a long time since I came across an ambient compilation as solid and tasty as the 2005 release Left Coast Liquid Vol. 1. From start to finish, this one takes me back to the days when it seemed...
Bluetech delivered a solid set of ambient chillout goodness, on the 2005 release Sines And Singularities. It's smooth and serene, with touches of dub to keep things interesting. Bluetech - Airstream Shulman - First Came The Stars (Bluetech remix) Recently...
