Image via Wikipedia Its always a moving experience when listening to the words sung by The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley . I can liken it to reading history books or inspiring scriptures written thousands of years ago. At times, amazingly Bob seems to be announcing a breaking news flash filled with events of the present day. Then there are the those moments when therapeutic relief is delivered or mellow moods are set. Bob gave me a pep-talk just this week. Legendary - This is the music of THE LEGEND. This is the latest [...]

The Grammys are this Sunday and if memory serves me right, the general sentiment is kind of "blah" compared to previous years. It use to be an honor to perform, but now you have artists declining (Bon Iver) the opportunity. Adele will win > 2 Grammys and the Beach Boys playing with Foster the People smells kind of desperate. Who knows, Katy Perry might actually go home with an award or Skrillex might be selected as Best New Artist? Kaskade // Deadmau5 - Move For Me (TABS Remix) [...]

There's nothing that goes as well with a cold February Toronto night than reggae. Am I right or am I right. With that in mind, I recommend popping over to Lee's Palace tomorrow night to catch local reggae collective The House Of David Gang . Tomorrow is the kick off of their fifth annual celebration of all things Bob Marley . After that they take the show on the road. Doors open at 9:00pm. Cover is $15 or $10 with a canned food donation to the [...]

One of my favorite up and coming emcees, Dza weaves a record about lifes up and downs, and how something out of "Marley's Garden" helps get him through the day. Grab it below. Smoke Dza: "Marley's Garden" "Treat these pigeons like Marlon Brando"

While Smoke DZA was going to save this MeLo-X produced Bob Marley tribute for an upcoming project, he decided to do the Rastafarian a solid and drop it on his birthday. Of course, it is Bob Marley's birthday today, so it does make sense that the hip-hop's king of weed smoke shows his appreciation for an original toker. No word on whether this will remain a part of a slated Smoke DZA project, but it sure does sit nicely on its own. Hit the skip to stream the track.
