Jimmy Page acaba de lanzar 'Lucifer Rising and Other Sound Tracks' .

" Composing and developing the music for Lucifer Rising was, for me, a personal journey – one that was more spiritual than material in nature. The notion that the work might enjoy some sort of commercial success is one to which I hardly gave more than a passing thought. Instrumental music, without lyrics and vocals, virtually guarantees limited popular appeal in any case.In 1980, not long after I completed the work, I managed, with the help of some friends, to arrange a limited pressing of the original extended stereo version of the soundtrack on vinyl LP. A few of the [...]

In the late 19th and early 20th Century, there had been many flourishing esoteric orders in Germany and Austria that sought to establish a reborn Germanic identity and to reconnect the people with their repressed archetypes. One of the most significant of these Orders was founded in Germany in 1912 - the German Order, and from this sprang the Thule Society, the Thulegesellschaft. The Thule Society took its name from the fabled land of Ultima Thule, which the Ukrainian witch Madame Helena Blavatsky learned of after having been contacted by the Great Race that had survived its destruction. It's been 3 weeks since I wrote the last official Swan Fungus Friday Top Ten list. Why? Well, I was gone for a whole ten days. Plus, who the hell wants to spend their entire vacation thinking of list ideas for a top ten list when the chance to get drunk with old friends is staring you right in your stupid face? Call me unprofessional, but I certainly wasn't going to delay my plans for some silly website. Especially one that has to settle for moronic ranked lists as a means of attracting new visitors. Only a horrible, shallow fool [...]

Bobby Blue of the order of Beausoleil was the one to whisk the sceptor of wanderlust across the ancient faces of Kenneth Anger's imagination approximation that is Lucifer Rising. Regal are the ones he honors with the fruits of his quest towards sonic mind expansion, that which [...]

"In the mid-'60s, noted obscurantist/occultist Kenneth Anger drew plans to make a film through Alistair Crowley's works, and had approached Jimmy Page for documentation. Through conversations they decided that the guitarist would provide the soundtrack. A first version of the film lasting 30 minutes once existed, but after some insistence Page convinced the filmmaker to extend his film. A second version, this time lasting 90 minutes, was finished by the very end of the '70s. Over the course of the decade, Page and Anger got into a solid dispute that still lasts today, and Page forbade him to ever use [...]

It never ceases to amaze me how many times I've had to move since relocating to Los Angeles. It seems like every month I'm packing up and leaving one temporary home for another. This is the fourth in nine months. Luckily, I've managed to remain in the same neighborhood the entire time. Each successive residence is within one mile of the last. I went from near the 101 to near the 2 to a residential street roughly seven blocks off of Sunset to another residential street roughly two-twenths of a mile off of Sunset. Who knows where I'll go [...]
