Does anyone know if Aberfeldy are still going? It's been age since we heard anything from them so I was just starting to wonder if they'd called it a day, their Facebook page seems to suggest they might be going, but it is a bit bereft of information about what they've been up to. Even my fountain of knowledge of all things related to the Scottish music scene, Jim AyeTunes , couldn't help, so if you you know what the band are up to these days please feel free to share. The last time I saw them [...]
Forty-five years ago today, on July 18, 1966, rocker Bobby Fuller was found dead in the front seat of his car in Hollywood, covered in gasoline, with the liquid also found in his system. The cops ... Continue reading "Bobby Fuller: Still No Answers 45 Years After His Death" >

There is probably more than a touch of irony in the story of Bobby Fuller, the early rocker who is now mostly remembered for "I Fought The Law (And The Law Won)." After all, the circumstances surrounding the rising young star's death in 1966 have always been the subject of speculation, and there are many who still suspect a cover-up by the authorities. Bobby Fuller was yet another Texas-born musician, following in the footsteps of Buddy Holly and other Lone Star entertainers. In fact, the El Paso native was strongly influenced by the legacy of Holly as [...]

The Bobby Fuller Four were an amazing Texas combo, one of the best pure rock n roll groups ever . They were an anomaly in the mid 60s, a classic group who enjoyed top 40 hits throughout the British Invasion - a movement that nearly swallowed most American competitors whole and rendered the 50s style rock n roller irrelevant. Few rock titans possessed the raw talent and drive of Bobby Fuller; he could write songs ready made for the radio, was a fine lead guitarist and early on, he produced his own records. Fuller was also the owner of a teen club and various independent record labels, a true rock n roll entrepreneur if such a thing ever existed. [...]

Well this is just horrible, I have only been posting once or twice a month. Not very blogger of me is it. I'll use the excuse that I have been working very hard trying to make my sales quota and getting my bonuses. ( I really am just a lazy bugger and have been downloading audio books (mp3) like crazy. I do have a moral dilemma about this, I am only downloading copies of books that I already [...]

With his blatant reverence for Buddy Holly , fellow Texan Bobby Fuller was a bit of an anomaly in the mid-'60s. With his Stratocaster guitar and brash, full sound, at his best Fuller sounded like Holly might have had he survived into the '60s. Cracking the Top 30 in 1966 with a cover of Holly's " Love's Made a Fool of You " and the Top Ten with " I Fought the Law " (written by one-time Cricket Sonny Curtis ), Fuller had just become a star when he died [...]
