I started out this DJ thang with playing drum & bass vinyls. People told me I should learn to mix house first, before moving on to more demanding drum & bass. I shot back by playing it for a year, before moving on to Acid House and later, Detroit. In those days, the golden 90´s and the early 00´s, Goldie was in the same status leauge as Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Sasha and Sven Väth. Combined. His imprint, Metalheadz gave rise to as many tattoos as Richie Hawtins Plastikman dito. [...]

Did you miss the recent Boiler Room set at New York City's illustrious W Hotel? Me too. It was on April 25 and featured performances from Cam'ron and Solange, along with DJ sets from Ryan Hemsworth and A$AP DJs. The whole thing was broadcasted by Boiler Room TV to help alleviate fear of missing out—or perhaps [...]
Serious vibes from Brenmar and MikeQ at The Boiler Room x W Hotels party in NYC. "Our two favorite tri-state area DJs Brenmar and MikeQ join forces for the first time to play the New York W Hotels Time Square party. Heavy New Jersey Club mixed with R&B and their signature pop reworks - not to be missed hands-in-the-air house."

We've been following Mount Kimbie as they continue to cobble together a solid collection of sounds and collaborators, and today saw a big piece of the puzzle come together: NPR's First Listen featured Dominic Maker and Kai Campos previewing their upcoming album Cold Spring, Fault Less Youth in full. The album's defining features are two [...]

The latest bit of goodness from Shigeto arrives by way of a 42-minute mix that he performed during a recent Boiler Room party. I haven't gotten the chance to see him live, either as a DJ or behind his drum-kit, so this will definitely do for now. He's not simply hitting play on a laptop and grooving back and forth as the music plays, as he manipulates the dance floor-oriented jams with his MPC triggers throughout. You can stream/download the mix below.
"Pete Rock, King of Hip Hop came down to the Boiler Room to work us out at W Hotel NY. A legendary producer pulling out the classics for us."

The summer forecasts look fun and promising, as long as you look away from the lame main-feeders. Otherwise you get Jared Leto likening his band 30 Seconds to Mars as "an art project", then there is Thom Yorke joining up with Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja and Elbow's Guy Garvey in scoring a doc about avoiding UK taxes, and while Kanye West "ain't here to apologize to no motherfuckers", you can still catch him performing on tomorrow's SNL season finale. But ...

After having a good laugh at t hat Boiler Room compilation yesterday , we're now getting some musical goodness from the worldwide series of parties. During their recent event in New York City, they snagged Pete Rock for a 70-minute set on the wheels of steel. He spins classic jam after classic jam after ... well, you get my point. If you were thinking of having a miserable Wednesday, let Pete and his mix cheer your bummy self up.
Without fail, there is always a moment during a Boiler Room set where you have to tell your friends about "this dumb DJ going way to hard" or pointing out that "cray chick." Thankfully, someone had the right sense of mind to compile some of the best of these moments. It covers a lot of sets and hilariousness, but I'm gonna have to say that one clip in particular was left out; Skream giving away the CDJs was the number one Boiler Room event that got people talking. Neonized . Seguro que mientras ves Boiler Room, generalmente te dan ganas de opinar más de la gente que de los DJs. O quizás no, pero lo que opinas de los DJs [....] La entrada Boiler Room Funny Momments aparece primero en Neonized .

If you have watched footage from a Boiler Room performance or been to one, you have surely seen some hilarious and/or embarrassing moments. And rather than leave it up to you to see them all for yourself, sa faithful Boiler Room viewer took it upon himself/herself to compile some of the greatest moments into a nearly six-minute super-cut. There's a trapquake, footage of Thom Yorke enjoying his set wayyy more than the crowd, and plenty of drunkards looking like fools.
On a day where one of the most hyped up dance albums leaks on the internet it's important not to forget where it all started. The Godfather of house music has been playing dance music since the early 702s, leading the wave of the Chicago house scene. He recently played in NYC for a Boiler Room set with DFA artist Juan Maclean and House of House. Knuckles, now 58, still remains to be one of the most respected DJ's in the world.
