At last! West Ham have finally managed to not only score but to win!! After three 4-0 drubbings on the spin it was a great relieve. Freddie Sears is a name for the future. And Lewis Hamilton won the first Grand Prix of the season, putting that stroppy spaniard in his place!! Speaking of bright young things - tracks for you from 3 of the new Indie vanguard.First up are Bolt Action Five whose AA side single was released on This Is Fake Diy last October. Another band hard to categorise - indie, electro, post-hardcore, dance-punk [...]

And cool kids belong together and all that. Cool Kids Can't Die come to us from Italy and have a bunch of reeeeemixes for your grabby hands. Ever since we played host to that Yelle remix contest , it seems like "Ce Jeu" remixes are popping out of the woodwork on MySpace, your Mom's blog, etc - making Yelle the real winner. This caught my ear... maybe not the best we've come across so far, but certainly very easy to like: Yelle - "Ce Jeu" (Cool Kids [...]

Edited by timic It's almost New Year's Eve. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know how it is where you live, but I'm going to the city and it's going to be huge party upthere. A night starting off with great fireworks and nice little bottle of champaign, surrouned by my best friends and thousands of party people ready to make the clubs unsafe. Before all that lets just all get in the mood with this special extra big selection ... tracks which are going to make you bounce to the new [...]

E i dischi?

Acid-mutant-disco. Sounds delicious. If I didn't already know that it was the self-penned sound of Osaka-based UK-expat, Matt Lyne, aka A Taut Line , I'd swear it's where the Turtles used to hang out on a Saturday night once they were done foiling evil Krang's dastardly plans. Except Donatello, who probably would've stayed at home to do heaps complicated maths problems or something because that's what's fun for him. I like Donatello. Anyway, Matt sent us a couple of very impressive remixes, the subjects of which are tracks from the totally remix-friendly British dance-punks, Bolt Action Five; and Electrorash [...]

Manchmal wirken Bolt Action Five infantil (New Rave), dann wieder sehr erwachsen (New Wave), zuweilen schlicht psychotisch (Metal).
Today has been weird. I seem to just keep finding out about more and more amazing releases. All on one day. I'll jump right in with Daft Punk's ALIVE album. As soon as I was out of bed today, I pretty much ran to Virgin Megastore down the road to get my hands on my copy. There was a guy in front of me in the queue that took forever. Seeing them at 02 Wireless in Hyde Park this summer was possibly the best live music experience of my life. I don't think I've ever [...]

Cool kids can't die?!?! Well I didn't think it was true until the music hit my ears! It takes skill and intelligence to kill a 'cool kid', it could be done by pretty much ruining their reputation or I may even take it abit far by saying literally killing them, but that's way out of hand! My point is that with music as sweet as this it will be impossible to find a way to ruin the reputation of Steve A and Steve B (the members of Cool Kid's Can't Die). Bolt Action Five - Think [...]
Pete Doherty is dead. Finally, that stage seems past, and we at 20jfg breathe a sign of relief. We missed out on the 'fantastic early Liberties explosive gigs' that everyone was talking about, and... Knightmare was a TV show that aired in the UK in the late 1980s. A bunch of kids would guide one of their friends around a virtual reality castle where they'd meet all kinds of out-of-work actors hamming it up as ogres or dwarfs. It was as if Jnr Lawnmower Man had stumbled into an am-dram version of Dungeons and Dragons...
