Good God we've got our hands full of new albums coming out soon. So, we thought we'd use this weekend mix to unload all the new singles cluttering the hard drive. We're pretty pumped to get new music by Dave Matthews , Eels , and Phoenix after too long an absence. Meanwhile, the prolific Conor Oberst is back in less than a year, while busy Jack White has started yet [...]
Always Like This "Good and nice." I think it is absolutely beautiful. Shed a tear at the end of a warm summer's day at the knowledge that now you've experienced it and it was so sweet, you'll never get it back. Bombay Bicycle Club and their MySpace.

Our post on Bombay Bicycle Club that we made back in February has received a bit of traffic lately, and if I were to venture a guess as to why, it would be because the band has recently released a new single entitled "Always Like This." This is the first single, in advance of their new album set to be released in June (at least in the UK) entitled I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose . There is no physical single to be had - at least in anything other than [...]

Summer is always fun, and if there's one thing that makes it all the more fun, it's the appearances of summer soundtracks. I spend a lot of my time foolishly making lists of songs to drive to (which I can't do), to put into films (I have no involvement with films), to cover (I can't play any instruments) or to soundtrack my summer. The last one is the only vaguely feasible option. And so this summer will be more exciting than any other that I can remember for a long time, musically speaking. There's an absolute slew of [...]
[LISTEN TO " BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB //Always like this) "] It sounds like... :... De la pop anglaise pur jus par des (très) jeunes gens dont la maturité (majorité) est encore à venir. Inversement à leur age, leurs chansons semblent déjà bien mûres... prêtes à nous cueillr. [ Myspace ]. [..DOWNLOAD..] 1. [...]

One of our favourite strange-electro guys from the UK, James Rutledge sent us his remix for Bombay Bicycle Club . The band is released their new single Always Like This ( order here ) and this one was done for the 12". BBC is an interesting tv chan... British indie band. I sometimes like them, I sometimes don't. You know, they are nice guys, only they are not so interesting with mixing their British influences (I guess The Smiths and Joy Division can come to mind) with the sound of art-y/indie bands like Vampire [...]
Another day, another DMCA takedown. It just makes me feel sad, when will these people realise we're helping the industry and they're the ones hindering it? If physical sales are going down, then live shows are how artists will make money, and if people are going to go to live shows then people need to hear their music. The wonderful Bombay Bicycle Club are a case in point. These ridiculously young and talented bastards... uh, I mean geniuses, are slowly being introduced into a transitional music world, where the industry simply doesn't know what's going to happen around [...]

Bombay Bicycle Gang - Always Like This (James Rutledge Remix)
What up fools! I am reporting from Ireland currently on vacation and loving it! This country is amazing! However, the bars close down around midnight and there are no happy hour specials... never-the-less it's great! I leave for London on Thursday so more to come! In light of being in the land of the clover I have posted some music that the natives fancy at the current moment. No worries, no traditional Irish folk music here. However, I must run to the pub now so [...]
If we wind back to February 2007 and my subsequent tips for 2007 column (which I named in a very try-hard fashion, 'Bands I Want To Namedrop Because They Will Become Big In 2007'), one of the bands I singled out for success was Bombay Bicycle Club . At the time, I said they "write bewitching, intense songs complete with the most distinctive vocals this side of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah" . That is intended to be a compliment, by the way. While I'm here I might as well point that Danananaykroyd were also in those tips [...]
The remix is perhaps the most innovative marketing tool of our digital generation. Free publicity for the band and remixer and to top it off (if it makes it to the mainstream) the product is a new way to enjoy something already enjoyable. Here we have the James Rutledge Remix of recently reviewed Bombay Bicycle Club's track Always Like This. Scoop it here

Official remix by James Rutledge of "Always Like This". Bombay Bicycle Club's new single along with the remix + more, was released yesterday in the UK digitally, on a 73 & 123. Vinyl is available here but don't wait too long, it is limited. "Always Like This (James Rutledge remix)" | download The band also started a short run of live shows, make sure to go! April: 14 Club NME @ The Lanes Bristol 15 [...]
James Rutledge has remixed Bombay Bicycle Club's new single 'Always Like This'. It is from their debut album "I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose", which they will be releasing through Island Records. 'Always Like This' feature repetitive whispered vocals, and a funky... We really love being reminded of electronic music from way before the break happened in the mid-2000s where the game was sort of turned on its head and the terrain of pop music was forever changing, capital-R rock being replaced with the greasy hybrid of electro and bassline. Remixes by James Rutledge seem to easily hearken back to those prior days when electronic rhythms were still being explored and the wake that acid house left on our mind had shifted to a less menacing, more bubblegum variety. And what he's done to the new single from UK indie [...]

Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This ( James Rutledge Remix) (mp3)

Ich hörte sie zum ersten Mal ohne zu wissen, wer sich dahinter versteckt. "Open House" hieß das Lied, soviel wurde mir gesagt. Meine Gedanken: "Ouh, Conor Oberst! In rockig!"

you know what i am so you know how i live Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This W oah-ly shit! This song just barreled me over the first time I heard it! This is what I'm talkin' about, baby! I guess Bombay Bicycle Club have a couple EPs and a single release under their belt and "Always Like This" is the first single from their upcoming debut LP, I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose . They get a lot of Arctic Monkeys comparisons [...]
My fave indie rock darlings the Bombay Bicycle Club are about to go viral. After releasing a few well received eps the youngsters have been signed to Island and have their debut album, "I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose" coming out in June. Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This

Londonbaserade Bombay Bicycle Club släpper sin debutskiva I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose i juni 2009. Första singeln Always Like This släpps den 13:e april och lovar mycket gott inför albumet. Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This En annan rolig nyhet är att Spotify släpper ett lib till utvecklare så att man kan utveckla egna applikationer och plugins till Spotify. För tillfället måste man vara Premium för att kunna ladda [...]
