This year's Rock The Bells music festival marks its 10th anniversary with a jam-packed lineup, including "virtual performances" by two deceased artists, Ol' Dirty Bastard from the Wu Tang Clan and Eazy-E, who will be performing with the ongoing reunion of Bone Thugs N Harmony. The MC Supernatural actually freestyled the all-star line-up earlier this evening. In full, here's what the lineup looks like: Big K.R.I.T., Black Hippy (Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, and Schoolboy Q), Bodega Bamz Bone Thugs N Harmony, Brother Ali, Chase and Status, Common, Curren$y, Danny Brown, Dilated Peoples, Dizzy Wright, Dom Kennedy, E-40 and Too Short, [...]

Despite Game sampling their "1st of Tha Month" track to marvelous effect on last year's should've-been-bigger "Celebration" , it's a bit strange how little Bone Thugs N Harmony are referenced these days considering how big of a presence and impact they had in not only hip hop but the pop world back in the 902s, much of their multi-platinum success attributed to the at-one-point inescapable homie dedication "Crossroads" , a crossover mega-smash that gifted the Cleveland group an eight-week stay at the top of the Hot 100 and scored them a Grammy. Father-son design duo Casely-Hayford started work on their fall collection inspired by Snoop Dogg and other rapper's love for rocking ice hockey jerseys in the ’90s. As with everything they do, though, there's a hidden ... read more

Boston based producer Durkin has typically been known for reworking hip hop tracks into underground house anthems. He even got the chance to spin a set on Rinse FM. On his latest, he seems to have taken a different approach with a laid-back, slow riding remix of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's "Foe Tha Love Of $".
My boy Durkin murdered this Bone Thugs rework. Fun fact, I once bought a full suit of armor off of Durkin. Another fun fact - we once wore an identical red and black checkered flannel to the GoodLife on the same night. If there was a Boston scenester version of US Weekly we would have been in the "Who wore it better section". Durkin would have won.
Boston based DJ/producer, Durkin, brings us this remix of Bone Thugs N Harmony’s jammer “Foe Tha Love of $$$”. Foe Tha Love of $$$ - Bone Thugs N Harmony - Durkin Remix

A little Bone Thugs rework to kick off 2013. Everybody who is anybody knows them some "Bone Thugs" , and Durkin has Reworked this Bone Thugs classic, For The Love Of Money . While Durkin spells it "Foe Tha Love of $$$$" , I thought it more appropriate to be grammatically correct so you can read it. Durkin is a Boston-based DJ and #DREAMCLUB producer, and he's Dreamed-Up quite the Rework. It's interesting.... you don't hear of a ton of producers coming out of Boston, but apparently [...]
Last year, we heard quite a few nice remixes from Boston producer/DJ Durkin , who mostly stuck to transforming cuts into electro workouts . But for his latest effort, he's chilled out a bit to match the laid-back stoner vibes of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony classic "Foe Tha Love of $". The pace of the Eazy-E-assisted single remains the same, but it's now more atmospheric and, at times, bursting. Download and/or stream it below.

It's a good day when there is an email from Boston producer, Durkin, squatting in the inbox. The Cleveland, OH hip-hop conglomerate reigned supreme during the 90's with hits such as "Crossroads," "1st of tha Month," and "Thuggish Ruggish Bone." Durkin takes one of their classics and kicks of 2013 with his own version titled, "Foe Tha Love of $$$." Download: Bone Thugs N Harmony - Foe Tha Love Of $$$ (Durkin Rework)
