To promote the forthcoming remix album for Bonobo 's already-classic 2010 release Black Sands , Ninja Tune tapped animator Anthony Scheppard to give us some decidedly mind-bending visuals for Machinedrum 's remix of "Eyesdown." The insanely prolific Machinedrum continues his winning streak with the remix, adding a peppy, juke-influenced drum pattern to replace the original's jazzy saunter, offsetting it with some genuinely sinister bass and using the altered context to make Andreya Triana 's sultry vocals more appropriate for the club than the cocktail lounge. Bonobo's Black Sands is turning two this year, and it still sounds as crisp and refreshing as it did the first time I heard it. Alas, after all this time, we're just getting our hands the remix album Black Sands Remixed next month featuring remixes from Machinedrum, Lapalux, and Falty DL. On the promotional tip for that release, here's an hour long mix from Bonobo including cuts from Four Tet, Teebs, Sepalcure, and Ifan Dafydd that will tide us over until the full project drops. The album "Black Sands" by Bonobo was one of our highlights of 2010. A beautifully constructed work fusing sharp electronica, smooth vocals and a fair share of orchestral arrangement. Following on from the squelchy synths and psychedelic bleeps explored on his first single, Funkineven is returning to his first sound with this new remix of Bonobo's beautiful 'Kiara' single, taken from the 2010 LP 'Black Sands'.
