The electronic duo of Blondes takes listeners down into late night basement parties in Brooklyn and serves a progressive mix of hypnotic house music.

It's been a while since the last M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade production, but the wait was worth it. As first heard on the delicious Body Language Vol. 10, 'Home' is now being passed around and getting the remix treatment with part 1 of the Home EP. Tim Green gives us bass upfront. Right away we're stomping our feet to a heavy kick, accompanied by the rythmic stabs carried over from the original.

The Get Physical head bruisers have taken a step away from label duties to collaborate on the new track "Home" . If it wasn't already special enough that the "Body Language" producers had crafted once again a sterling track, Tim Green has stepped in to remix it! Tim's calculated rise has come off the back of fantastic remixes for Friendly Fires and Cassius with a unique stamp being laid on each. His remix of "Home" adapts on the timeless nature of M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade releases, with blistering hot drums and [...]

Seems like the busy busy Get Physical bosses managed to have a sit down in between doing all their own things for themselves and the label to produce a new collaboration track called Home. Not uncommon with the times they are giving it away free on their Facebook as well as signing you up for a competition to go see them play in Berlin on the 10th December. Also up for grabs is Tim Green's remix... so much free music around its bizarre?! M.A.N.D.Y [...]

by Kevin Dooley Such a shame that this track is not being released because it would wake up some dance floors. Still I thought I would post because this is just testimony to the brilliance of Russ Chimes. He really corks up Booka Shade's regenerate till it blows up big time - one of my favourite remixes of 2010. They'll be plenty more Chimes on here in the future I imagine but its well worth checking out some of his originals - e.g. [...]
Over the past few months, minimalism as a genre has truly been growing on me after listening to countless hours of Joris Voorn, Claude Van Stroke, Umek, Loco Dice and many others during those late night after hour parties. So when a good friend from home put me up on DJ Sumner, his Minimalism Is [...]

Thoughts from our B-Sides staff member, who attended the IDentity Festival in Mountain View, CA: It felt like KasKade tore through the Shoreline Amphitheater main stage tent in Mountain View, CA, this summer night. In the haze of sweat and body heat, thousands of house music fans, ravers and hipsters dancing as one under the summer night stars. The bold beats and climaxing crescendos kidnapped many a cognitive function as moving any body part was a small ransom to give to get back control. You are mesmerized by lights and shapes bursting from the stage sometimes reading [...]

Any big artist coming to my corner of the world in Albuquerque is a very rare treat, but having a whole electronic music festival a 20 minute drive from my house was nothing short of amazing. Read on for my full recap! (Click the pictures for a larger view) The day started out pretty well with The Eye getting everyone ready for the day. He was a bit rough in the mixing department, although he [...]
Rock on, gamers. While we at Buzz Bands LA HQ won't pretend to be conversant in Borderlands, we do like our Crystal Method , especially when Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland team up with U.K. indie-funk band the Heavy. "Play for Real," featuring singer Kelvin Swaby and guitarist Dan Taylor from the Heavy (and some other familiar name like trumpeter Stewart Cole), is stashed on the iTunes deluxe edition of the Crystal Method's 2009 album "Divided by Night." Killer track, and killer animation from Jordan "Kootra" Mathewson. In a manner of speaking. ||| Live: [...]

Booka Shade are currently on tour in America and have decided to give away their throbbing, demonic take on Kings Of Leon's 'Back Down South'. It's a really industrial jittery remix - but the they managed to stick in some of their tried and tested melodic cinematic house vibes. One of their finest remixes to date ? Quite possibly. When Identity Festival had their "$20 for 20 Hours" sale two days ago, many of you sent me emails saying, "Thank you California Cornbread! You know everything! Please have my babies!*" (*Third sentence is a lie.) But some of you were really bummed out because Los Angeles was left out of the sale. At the time, the venue for the Los Angeles show was T.B.A., so it was a little hard for them to sell tickets - understandably. Problem solved. I made a call to the good folks at Wantickets, and I said, "Yo whaddup with them tickets [...]
