Botany Bay are back with a video to a song that is really not so much about Robbie Williams but rather about the sadness of knowing exactly what you are looking for...
Today, Botany Bay released their new video, "A Better Way". While still retaining the trip-hoppish, thoughtful and melancholic style the band has become known for, the first track co-written by new lead singer Stefanie Mühr and producer/keyboardist Stephan Kleinert marks something of a departure from the sound of Botany Bay's previous offering, "Stupid Summer Dreams". Botany Bay will be touring the Bonn/Cologne area in winter 2010 and are working on a new release... whether it will be an album or an EP is not yet decided...
Along with their single, "How Much Can You Take?" , Botany Bay today finally introduce their new lead singer, Stefanie Mühr. The single's B side, "Oh, Robbie" , is actually a live demo, uncut and unprocessed – the song was regularly used by Stephan during the casting for a new singer (which consisted of 14 candidates in a little over 3 months); the released version is the second take, recorded during the casting, only half an hour after Stefanie had heard the piano instrumental for the first time in her life. On October 17th, 2009, Botany Bay gave one of their rare live concerts @ the Blue Shell club in Cologne. A video clip from that event, with Botany Bay performing "Inhale", is now online. This also was the last concert of the band to feature Laura Dietrich on vocals, who left Botany Bay in November 2009. Regelmäßige Hörer meiner Sendungen wissen ja, dass ich einen Faible für Zahlenspiele habe. Und den kann ich diesen Monat nach Herzenslust ausleben. 142 Wähler (Rekord!) haben zusammen 357 Stimmen (Rekord!) abgegeben. Nachdem AF Music schon im August sein 25. Release mit einer Compilation aus schön dunkler Rock Musik, Gothic, New Wave und Electro inklusive feierte, war es nun auch Zeit, diese Compilation auch im Radio zu spielen , genauer im Freien Radio Kassel bei frei². Und wie es sich für ein Jubiläum gehört gehen auf Falks Konto auch noch jede Menge bis dahin unveröffentlichter Titel.
