It's old news for some but I figured I would just post about it again for those who haven't heard. I was lucky enough to see Daft Punk's Alive concert and this time around it will be Tron based. From what people have been saying by the watercooler is that Daft Punk is going to be releasing a new album some time soon including that "one" track from the club scene we all love but can't find. We will start [...]

Suicide Sundaes – stop your grinnin’ and drop your linen. Every Sunday electblake of Earmilk will bring you the weeks dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn’t care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. To hell with sketchy Sunday, we want to shove another dragon down the hole. From the Editor by: electblake aka Amperror It's pride week(end) in [...]
The NY Times ran a big feature on 23-year-old FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi this weekend. Some are already calling him one of the best footballers ever. During the careers of the greats to whom Messi is most often compared — Pelé of Brazil and Diego Maradona, a fellow Argentine — the pace of the game was slower, with more space to operate and more chance for flamboyant playfulness in the flowing dribbles known as gambeta. Today, soccer increasingly relies on size and muscle and speed. The best players must be able to [...]

With RCRD LBL and XLR8R featuring electronic boy genius Andy Petr, it's been a good week for the 19-year old producer.Prolific beyond his years, Milwaukee native Andy Petr recently signed with Brooklyn-based Mixpak records and will release his debut album Rapper Turned Singer EP on May 10th. Andy's profuse output of intricate chops doesn't stop there. He is also delivering a spate of free EPs

A New York entrepreneur made $120k in two days selling Osama is dead t-shirts. Eat that Rachel Maddow. Rachel Maddow recently made the case that Obama ruined our economy. It wasn't Wall Street. Subprime mortgages and collateralized-debt obligations were all created in America's best interests. Although he destroyed the two largest buildings in the economic center of the world, bin Laden couldn't crush America's entrepreneurial spirit. There is no greater evidence of this than Maurice Harary's new company, OsamaDeadTees.com . Harary [...]

I love Indietracks. In preparation for writing this, I've been concerned that anything I say is just going to be horribly gushing. I've gone over the weekend again and again looking for negatives to include in this. I didn't come up with very much. This is a festival that can seemingly do no wrong to me, and what's written below will reflect that. With that said, let's jump aboard the train toward the Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire for a look back at this year's Indietracks. FRIDAY [...]

Video: Indietracks 2009 in 7 Minutes by LastNightFromGlasgow The Indietracks lineup seems to be pretty much complete now (though a few more bands are still to come) with Everybody Was In The French Resistance... Now and Slow Club both being added to the bill. Perhaps more excitingly though, the day by day breakdowns have now been announced, giving us a festival that looks something like this: Friday [...]

Boy Genius has made a new video for ""Ramona Saves The Day" from their recent album "Staggering". This is probably my favourite on the album, and it might even be my favourite BG song ever. Brilliant pop-music! The video is filmed and edited by their own drummer, Lisa Klimkiewicz, and all the footage is from the band's US tour in January. Touring with Boy Genius certainly looks like fun! This summer, Boy Genius will do a few gigs in the UK, culminating with the Indietracks -festival. [...]

Now that London Popfest is out of the way, it's time to turn our attention to this year's Indietracks festival, which will take place 23-25 July at the lovely Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire. Last year we covered the event quite extensively, and this year will be no different. Previews of the bands in the run up to the event, followed by reports and a shit ton of photos of the weekend itself. I'm not exaggerating when I call Indietracks the highlight of my musical year. Where else can you get a non-stop indiepop while surrounded by (and [...]

Oh no you say; not one more of those dreaded posts! Well, I’m afraid so. I know they are sorry excuses for posts and are no good for one's blogger renommee (if one has any, of course). But I can think of (at least) three waterproof explanations for, why I shouldn’t feel ashamed of reusing the same formula as used Wednesday . First of all; nothing at any interest is happening these days. If something is in fact happening, I haven’t noticed. But then again. Ask my wife and she’ll explain how capable I am of being [...]
