"Follow the herd" is the 2nd single from Boy Omega 's album "The ghost that broke in half" , his fifth album overall and one that took a full two years to come to fruition. For all the pieces that were assembled to make that work possible, there were many left behind, hence this EP. Some have appeared in other locations in past and some never before, but now they all come together for you in this 6-song EP. A pair of instrumentals, a pair of covers, a Christmas carol that remains evocative even when the season [...]

Pushing the agenda forward We don't need the outside - Questa sera a polaroid avremo ospiti dal vivo i Clever Square . Dopo averli intervistati qualche settimana fa , faremo quattro chiacchiere con questa giovanissima band di Ravenna (da poco accasata presso la Tea Kettle Records ) e ascolteremo un po' del loro folk pop a bassa fedeltà. Album Review: Boy Omega 'Hope On The Horizon' (Stereo Test Kit Records) So, who is the next singer-songwriter to get blogland in a flurry of writing and praise? Well, if I have anything to do with it, it's a young man from Sweden called Martin Henrik Gustafsson, who records under the name Boy Omega . Though his previous efforts were more of a solo effort, with an electronic feel, this album has much more of a band feel. And, as almost a refreshing difference, as a result of listening to albums like Blonde on [...]
The Gustafson Brothers are back ( Book Of Daniel and Boy Omega ). Are there two bands anywhere in the world that are lead by brothers that are more prolific or more tuneful? I'm not aware of any. This time Boy Omega is going to be releasing his new record on the German label Glitterhouse, as well having an Oct. 1 release date for Hope On the Horizon on England's Stereo Test Kit Records . "Suffocation Street" sounds a bit like the title. It's not completely a downer, yet it's [...]
Ok... the subject line here might just be a silly play on words, but the music and links to the artists involved will probably more than make up for our ridiculousness. The last time we catalogued bands that had previously been featured on MML, our focus was directed to a specific style of dreamy guitar rock [original shoegaze extravaganza + downloads.] This time we are doing things
We Are Soldiers We Have Guns - "Songs That No One Will Hear" mp3 We Are Soldiers We Have Guns -"Damn Those TV Shows, Damn Them Straight To Hell" mp3 There's something equally essential in the song title as is in the song itself: these might well be the songs no one will hear, but those nobodies that do, appreciate them with love. Un-party music you listen to in an un-hurry day. We Are Soldiers We Have Guns and more lovely [...]

Hopefully most you you people are not totally unfamiliar with Boy Omega . After realesing his critically acclaimed debut album in november last year he has been touring around Europe (and still is) spreading his fragile voice and great acoustic sound. With lyrics that probably would have made the young Werther even more depressesed there is no doubt what Martin Gustafsson is aiming for. He wants to make epic music for the young romantics who still find some beauty in longing and despair. This is much like Bright Eyes, just [...]
Boy Howdy Boy Omega is Martin Henrik Gustafsson, a Swede born with one leg shorter than the other, and boy, you can really hear it in his music! It's somewhat as if Elliot Smith had been the lead singer of The Cure (though it ends up substantially jauntier than that implies)and they liked to sit around playing country music. It also has a little of PlayRadioPlay's appealing hermetically sealed innocence. The Best Time Of The Year [...]
Elf Songs, vier Ohren. Diesmal ohne gestresste Gastautoren, nur in Blogstammbesetzung, nehmen wir uns wieder ein paar MP3-Zugänge der letzten Wochen vor. Lesen und Hören! Back in April of this year we did a piece on Boy Omega, the rather wonderful musical project of Martin Henrik Gustafsson. The song we featured then, By Midnight We'll Give It A Go, is a firm MML favourite. Since then, Martin has played a string of European dates (for live shows, he is accompanied by an orchestra made up of various of his friends) and has also been working on a new

I have been visiting/reading the reviews on SCATS , Slightly Confusing To A Stranger, for some time now and have come to a realization. Even though I don't consider myself a stranger to their site anymore, it is still quite confusing. It always feels like they are making slight, and at times insignificant, changes to their layout and presentation which leaves you, the visitor, feeling like you have just landed on a foreign planet. It has the effect of someone being invited to a secret meeting but not being permitted to come too close. I think it's cool. To [...]
