I've been referencing Santana a lot in recent reviews I've written ( Howlin Rain , Radio Moscow , Bravo Johnson , etc.) figured I might spend a little time listening to the guitarist. Starting off with his greatest hits, this is the song that stuck out. I don't really have any interest in modern Santana stuff, but will keep digging into his early stuff.

Americana music is in many ways comparable to the heavy questions regarding punk rock. What the hell is Americana? What is truly "punk"? As a couple of sub genres, they can be very difficult to explain or even comprehend. Except that they are supposed to be soundtracks to describe a certain (yet vast) culture or sub culture. Bravo Johnson ( MySpace ) is commonly referred to as an Americana rock group. With hints of old school rockabilly, it does fit the standard. But not really. But, does it really matter? [...]

It's pretty bold for a band to release a two-hour-long double album as their sophomore album. Bravo Johnson does, and somehow manages to avoid getting mired in all the jangle.

In their first few tours, it would make sense for an up-and-coming band to open for artists whose style is generally reminiscent of their own. With the more experienced band of the two most often responsible for the bulk of attendance, it allows the newer band to perform for a group of people who already enjoy a similar sound, instilling more confidence in the band's members and increasing the likelihood of an amiable reception dramatically.
