Last week marked the last Trinumeral Festival of the millenium on 12.12.12. Grant and the guys behind Trinumeral have been putting together large scale events for years and they pulled out all the stops for this year's event at King Plow and Terminal West in Atlanta. If you were lucky enough, you would have seen Andre 3000 walking around the building incognito, checking out some of the music. The lineup was really diverse and brought together two of the most talented camps in electronic today, featuring artists from Ninja Tune and [...]

![Break Science & Michal Menert – Electric Touch : Glitch / Soul / Dubstep Collaboration [Pretty Lights Music]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4557720_lg.jpg)
Seeing collaboration tracks between two producers I really dig ignites a little childlike excitement. Heres' "Electric Touch" , an electro soul anthem done by Break Science and Michal Menert . When two groups who are signed under the Pretty Lights Music label team up, you know you are going to get a beast of a track filled with so endless soul and groove. It incorporates the live drumming and keys from Break Science, fused with Michal Menert's insane sampling and producing abilities. This is the first sample of their upcoming EP, coming out. This [...]

Like it or not DJ culture is all grown up. Starting out in warehouses, basements, lofts and clubs in the '70s and '80s, and evolving into massive raves one-offs, festivals and global tours in the late '90s and '00s, its long and winding road has set the stage for a new generation of formidable talent and musical innovation. If you consider where DJ culture is at the moment, it's hard to see things cooling off anytime soon: DJs are gracing the front covers of old guard print magazines , scoring movie soundtracks , touring with shows [...]
photo credit Morrison, CO - Pretty Lights has done it again. Two nights of back-to-back shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre – completely sold out. (Is it any surprise?) Nearly every show in Colorado has been a full house since the debut of Derek Vincent Smith’s album, Filling Up The City Skies, in 2008, and our [...]

It's not everyday that I get to witness a show at Yoshi's, the prestigious jazz club in the Fillmore of San Francisco. Consequently, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't suspicious about how the all ages crowd would react to an electronic show with massive amounts of bass. Luckily, the event wasn't in the illustrious club area (only accesible via the spiral staircase), but rather in the restaurant. Let me put it in perspective for those of you who don't know Yoshi's. When you walk in, you're immediately welcomed by a semi-optimistic bouncer checking IDs and giving out wristbands [...]
![Break Science [Interview]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4283838_lg.jpg)
How long has Break Science been performing? Me and Adam met in 2003 and we formed this group in 2008. Where did the name Break Science come from? Well, Break Science is a way that we thought about how we could express our sound and we went through a lot of names. You have the “breaks” aspect of it which is kind of Adam with the drums like drum breaks and then you have the science of making the beats and putting it all together. You [...]

Came across this this morning on This Song Is Sick and thought I’d share. Vocals from Florence and the Machine rubbing up against beats from The Pharcyde as imagined through the ears of Break Science (Pretty Lights Music). “The melody is a key element that we like to infuse into our brand of electronic music. After hearing this song by Florence and the Machine, we felt the vocal line evokes an emotion which soars above the hard dance floor drums and future synths we eventually combined with it. [...]
Yesterday the super blog, This Song is Sick , premiered a bootleg from BREAK SCIENCE . If you weren't in the know the Brooklyn duo is also signed to PRETTY LIGHTS MUSIC . I have to agree with This Song is Sick, the tune is quite summery, but the tune extends far beyond warm days and nights. This bootleg is saturated in warmth, so much so the low end feels like letting go after a long embrace. There's a little bit of vacancy here, you know, like [...]

If you're in San Francisco for the weekend, be sure to check out Break Science at Yoshi's . What do The Wutang Clan, John Scofield, The Fugees, Lee Scratch Perry and Talib Kweli all have in common? Well, aside from making genre defining music in their own regards, these musical icons have each collaborated with the Brooklyn based electronic music duo Break Science. Whether they've performed on stage or worked together in the diverse realms of production, these guys seem to have no boundaries when it comes to making music that will move your feet AND lift your [...]

Came across this electronic mash up of Florence and the Machine & The Pharcyde, titled "Flocyde" by Break Science. Spotted @ thissongissick.com

Dope new remix from Break Science of blending Florence + The Machine instrumentals over a Pharcyde beat for this funkdafied version. Dropping on TSIS , Break Science releases the perfect summer track. Download: Break Science – "Flocyde" Florence and the Machine & The Pharcyde
![[TSIS EXCLUSIVE] Break Science – Flocyde (Florence + the Machine & The Pharcyde)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4269478_lg.jpg)
Today I’ve got another great track fit for bringing in summer.. It features vocals from Florence and the Machine, and sampled beat from Pharcyde, all mashed and remixed together by Break Science with their added electronic flavor. The upbeat vibe filled with just enough bass is the perfect track to listen to at all times of the day. Having a live drummer and keyboardist just adds a different warmth to the track. Break Science is the electronic group signed to Pretty Lights Music who dropped the free album The Monolith Code . [...]
