Essentially this was a forgotten funk myth before those french Robots went all Daft punk over it's ass. Its a very weird track to drop, usually met with bewilderment and generally unamused... DOWNLOAD/ STREAM http://www.feelmybicep.com

Another Flight Facilities edit from their set at the Paris Social Club... It's another Daft Punk related one where the original sample from Robot Rock gets a little cut n paste action. Dig out the air guitar and crank it to 11! Breakwater – Release The Beast (Flight Facilities SC Edit) [DOWNLOAD] SlothBoogie
Where Psychemagik tear into Breakwater's 'Robot Rock' inspiring track 'Release The Beast' with some serious ferocity. Honestly, this kicks like a mule from start to finish. Better than Daft Punk? You heard it here first. Re-release The Beast - Psychemagik by Psychemagik

Except when it gets spilled on your computer while you're DJing at a frat and kills your battery and charger. Luckily my computer and hard drive are both still intact, but expect a slow down in posts from me in the near future. I would like to think that J and Jumpman would help pick up the slack and do some posts, but I'm definitely not about to hold my breath, and you shouldn't either. Anyways, I'll find out tomorrow morning just how bad it is, and with a little luck I might be back up and [...]

Wow. Londoner, and up and comer guarantee, Arch-M . I want more. These tracks are amazing for a 'bedroom producer'. MP3: Arch M - 21st Union MP3: Arch M - Cat Grave Another UK band, Tired Irie , seem to be getting alot of NME buzz recently, which doesnt necessarily amount to buzz down here in Australia, nor indicate talent, but I can definitely see these guys taking off. They sound quite foals-esque with [...]

Breakwater "Release the Beast"

Welcome to another installmant of the Gee Wizz SHOW BAG. What's in the Gee Wizz show bag this time? Lucky you, lucky dip! A miscellany of stupendous songs that have nothing in common besides the fact that they are totally brilliant, not to mention orgasm inducing. Teenagersintokyo // Very Vampyr (dCup Remix) This remix does the brilliant Very Vampyr justice whilst making it a great track in its on right. Quiero Club // Let da Music (80kidz Remix) Queer name, but [...]
Hello. This my latest track selection. Enjoy this crap. Let's start with Refused. Listening to this band in the context of their time reveals how amazing their music is. A whole heapload of bands today are basically ripping off what Refused did ten years ago. They are broken up now, and they're last days are chronicled in the documentary "Refused Are Fuckin' Dead." Although it is somewhat
So we've given the new Janet album a few spins, and for the most part we like it. One of our favorite tracks is So Much Betta (not bett er , betta) and when we first heard it, we were struck by how familiar it sounded... turns out, it samples a Daft Punk song, Daftendirekt, from the duo's first album "Human After All." The sample actually works pretty nicely, and Janet's manages to pull off a pretty cool sounding song. (Seriously, it's hot.) Anyway, sampling Daft Punk seems to be the thing to [...]

Straight, Gay, BI...whatever you are, valentines day usually ends in some sort of penentration...here are some songs to help you in your mining. This is like the indie jock jams for getting to third base. 1. Delays "Long Time Coming" 2. FischerSpooner "Megacolon" 3. The Promise Ring "Pink Chimneys" 4. The Blood Brothers "Peacock Skeleton with Crooked Feathers" 5. Breakwater "Release The Beast" 6. Muse "Plug [...]
First up check this mindblowing new video by Zongamin. Both music & visuals are too good for words. Future funk. Watching that video (again) reminded me to check out what those jazz funk kids are up to... and now I wish I hadn't because they've gone and posted this track before me. But what the hell, I guess I can stick it up too. Apparently Ebony Bones used to 'star' in Channel 5's soap '
Turns out that one of the few truly monstrous tracks from Daft Punk's latest, Human After All , almost completely jacks the opening of "Release the Beast," a little known electro-funk stomper by 2-and-out late 70s jazz-funk outfit Breakwater. I felt compelled to post the original because although I knew that Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manual de Homem-Christ0 were big on sampling, I was surprised that they'd take something so massive and hardly change it while creating an entire song around it. Call me naive, but I leave that kind of uncreative, lazy production for Diddy and Kanye. [...]

breakwater - release the beast (mp3) the yellow moon band - chimney (mp3) well thanks to all who came down to saturday's rock special, props are due to mr christopher "stevo" stephenson for the original guitar-led concept and mr daniel "danny" webb for keeping the place rocking whilst myself and mark got a little worse for wear. of course, we're consummate professionals and take our saturday night responsibilities very seriously, but had become a little salubrious after partaking in a few afternoon tipples whilst out on our dpercussion [...]

This edition is my favorite so far. I think most of you will be as shocked as I was to hear some of these tracks. I couldn't have put this together without the inspiration from the girl Elizabeth - she put it well: as you hear these tracks you'll either decide Daft Punk isn't as genius as you thought they were or that they're twice as amazing. I just know that for any Daft Punk fan out there- these tracks are essential. In other words, don't skip this one. [...]
