Posted in Music Videos Play-This-List 'Interference' is good. Really fucking good. You know that feeling when you hear a snippet of a song for the first time and you have to find out who the artist is and subsequently anything they have released to date. That's what it felt like when I heard this track for the first time. Turns [...]

You've had your bretonLABS fill from Harriet recently, and now it's back to Breton proper. Taken from the forthcoming album Other People's Problems , new single Interference was recorded with German composer Hauschka and sees electro meet classical in a thrilling bit of sonic helter-skelter. The track fizzes and whizzes along rollercoaster-style, with its sudden, enervated peaks and scattergun vocals seemingly coming from all directions. If that's not good news enough, there's more: the song comes supported by a truly superb video... Click here to view the embedded video.

Withdraw the Ambassador ( mp3 ) is a bit of yin and yang track. There's just the right balance of dark, edgy backing to accompany Py's sweet, airy voice. It would appear this blog is in praise of Py. Sorry Py, you're good, real good, but I really want to bang on about BretonLABS - the lords of the digital manor, who helped produce this number. Whilst I can't speak highly enough of their own material (if you pop along to there Facey b page , you can download their new EP Blanket Rule FOR FREE), bretonLAB's remixes are the proverbial holy [...]
Of all the new acts to have emerged so far in 2012, British singer/songwriter Jade Pybus aka Py is definitely one of the most interesting. Her astounding voice matched only by the calibre of... **Summary** Go to website for downloads, videos & more.
Recorded in Brighton and London and featuring collaborations with the likes of George Fitzgerald, Lapalux, Raffertie and Greenwood Sharps, 'Tripping on Wisdom' is a perfect introduction to Py, and today she is sharing the track 'Withdraw The Ambassador' recorded with bretonLABS, giving you just a taste of what's to come. Py also announced the forthcoming mixtape, [...]

Anything Breton/BretonLABS touches is a must listen. This new remix for Aussie band Expatriate's "Miracle Mile" single knocks too hard. Do not miss. Expatriate - Miracle Mile (BretonLABS Remix) Expatriate ( Facebook ) Rating 8.3

photo by Harry Mitchell Available for free via their Facebook page, Breton 's new five-track EP Blanket Rule feels like a return to their squat-party-playing days . The quintet - who live together at bretonLABS, where they also make video and doubtless other wacky stuff - throw dirty industrial bass, fizzing beats, scratchy vocals and regular changes of pace into an experimental cauldron, and emerge with a record that feels very underground, very visceral. It's fast and thrilling, then slow and muttered; an antidote to fresh air, a soundtrack for painkiller [...]

Mr. Fogg – 'Stay Out Of the Sun' For his sophomore album, Oxford (UK)'s Mr. Fogg employed a new method – targeting the composition of 20 new songs in 5 months. The first output from that process is the first single – 'Stay Out Of the Sun', which opens with whispered vocals, simple piano chords, and metronomic beats and alternates between that basic structure and waves of phasing synthesizer, hazy guitar and clattering percussion. Young Hines – 'Rainy Day' Brendan Benson ( [...]

It's difficult to pin Breton down. As far as pigeonholing them to one particular genre is concerned there's no hope, from house beats to guitar riffs, they're about as eclectic as it gets. Equally challenging however is putting your finger on exactly what it is that makes them so alluring, somehow it all just works. As if the music wasn't enough Breton or BretonLABS as the collective tends to be termed, indulge in visuals just as much as the they do audio, their live shows as memorable for the backdrop of self-shot videos [...]

I have posted much about Breton lately, even though they have been pretty active. The pop/experimental British band really have a clever sound, that is both captivating and hypnotizing. It is music that really no other is doing as well as Breton . "Edward The Confessor" & "Kensington System" is the debut AA single from them, and shows just the complexity and beauty of their music. These songs will be found on their latest album Other People's Problems' , dropping in February 2012. Listen to "Kensington System" below. Fresh? [...]
Two weeks ago, Breton, one of the hottest band we're following, has released a new track called 'Kensington System'. Well today, you can listen to its A Side - 'Edward The Confessor' taken from their debut album "Other People's Problems" due to November 21th on FatCat Records. Please note that, they'll be playing on December 3rd at the Transmusicales in Rennes.

Art pop architects Breton are releasing a stunning new video to accompany their new song 'The Commission'. It's a strikingly beautiful song with a black heart and overwhelming sense of inevitable foreboding. The accompanying video perfectly encapsulates this. It was directed by BretonLABS and Stuart Sinclair , a motion graphics artist who makes computer generated clips of space and satellites. Breton front man - artistic experimentalist, songwriter and filmmaker Roman Rappak, invited Sinclair to collaborate on the video. The actor is Patrick Lyons , a beat poet from Boston [...]

Earlier on this year Breton toured with Tom Vek, a well-suited support slot. Not long after the tour they headed over to Iceland to record their debut album at the Sundlaugin Studio, owned by Sigur Ros. I am expecting an awesome debut album if teaser "The Commission" is anything to go by. "The Commission" is a won... Read more..

This is Breton - an art pop sonic and visual experimentalists from UK. These guys are quite a multitaskers - they have also made videos for Penguin Prison, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and Flats. Their debut AA single "Edward The Confessor/Kensington System" will be released on November 21 via Fat Cat. Enjoy "Kensington System" - a little aggressive and very experimental work by Breton.

A debut single by upcoming London band Breton has been announced for 11 November - and in fact it's two songs, a double-A side effort by god. Apparently both 'Edward The Confessor' and 'Kensington System' will be cocktails of furious, distorted electro-rock sketchiness, and as scratchy and thrilling as each other ... but so far only the latter is available to keep up its end of the bargain.
