When I started listening to Brian Posehn's D&D podcast Nerd Poker, I knew nothing about Dungeons and Dragons. Now, 15 episodes later I'm totally hooked. Each episode is an hilarious outing laced with pop culture references and dick jokes. In this episode the group's characters recover from one of their longest battles. I would obviously [...]

This week we're turning over the Sunday Slaylist to something a little different - we want you to go buy something. On Monday 18 February, Pat Egan, Relapses Records' Director of Retail Sales, died following a the result of complications with a case of pneumonia . To raise money for Pat's daughter's college fund, the folks over at Relapse have gone and put together a compilation of 20 of the finest bands ever to have worked with the label - and we think it'd be a damn fine gesture if a few of our readers joined us in buying [...]
The proceeds will benefit the family of the late Pat Egan.
In addition to an extensive acting and stand-up resume, Brian Posehn has forged a unique career path for himself by taking on projects that deal with things he truly loves. From Dungeons and Dra... Continue reading "A Conversation With A Metal Nerd: Brian Posehn is Coming to Town This Week " >
When it was first announced that Joey Belladonna we re-returning to Anthrax in 2010, Vince and I - who, in case you somehow don't know, greatly prefer John Bush to Mr. Bellardini - published a list of 101 singers we'd rather see join the band. Number twenty-four on that list was the comedian Brian Posehn, [...]
Scott Ian and Brian Posehn have collaborated on some pretty funny songs, including "Metal By Numbers" and the amazing "More Metal Than You." They apparently had so much fun doing it, that they're going to be working on a full album together. Last Friday, Posehn stopped by the SiriusXM Liquid Metal studios, and while talking ...

I attended snippets of both the Doug Benson Movie Interruption screenings during Bonnaroo. Thursday's showing of Rambo was a lot more silent from the interrupters (featuring guest Brian Posehn and more whose names I didn't catch), mostly because the first half of the movie is a lot of genocide and other sad moments. It really [...]
This was my first Bonnaroo experience. I seriously doubt it will be my last. Arriving in sweltering heat, with surprising little traffic on the first day of performances. I realized that I'd forgotten to re-stock on sunscreen, so what I'd brought had better last. Nashville was abuzz with thousands of additional out of city/state tourists for the CMA's, something to do everywhere. Honky Tonk's spilling out, not a stark contrast to the oasis of Manchester, Tennessee's grounds where Bonnaroo would be held. Entering the state and meeting Tennesseans for the first time, you're shocked. If you're [...]
There's nothing I love more than a music festival. Actually that's a lie, however I do enjoy them immensely. Bonnaroo is up there amongst the world's best, and in North America its main opposition seem to be Coachella and Lollapalooza. Now although Bonnaroo doesn't have live holograms being streamed online in the middle of a desert (helping the rest of world get familiar with an area of California named Indio) and it isn't based in Windy city, it is holding it's own further south east in the city of Manchester, Tennessee. Not too far away from Nashville. [...]

Yeah Okay, You're Right : So it's less than a month away now, and we've not said a word about it (yo, things got hectic around here!), but we're still very excited for the 'roo. You probably already know what Bonnaroo is, but on the off-chance you've been hiding in a cave for the past 11 years, there's a huge music festival that's about to happen on a lovely farm in Manchester, Tennessee from June 7th through the 10th. For a long weekend, music fans flood the small Tennessee town and camp out [...]

photos by Tim Griffin Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 came to a close on Sunday night. It was another successful year for the well-rounded music fest, and the end of its first in the larger (and much dustier) Auditorium Shores. And though Ryan Gosling may have been the most talked about artist at the festival ( Danzig was a close second ), the real star was festival organizer Transmission Enertainment for putting together such a kickass [...]

Slayer closed out the third and final day of Fun Fun Fun Fest. Big fun, if not fun×3, this past weekend in Austin at the Fun Fun Fun Fest, a mixture of musical (and other) entertainment staged supposedly as an alternative to the bloated, self-important Austin City Limits festival. FFF stretched out for the first time at Auditorium Shores, which to even the drunkest concertgoer is much more space than ACL has down the road at Zilker Park. The only physical problem this year was apparently blowing dust but on Sunday - the only [...]
We realize that not everyone has the good fortune of living in the great state of Texas, but between SXSW, Chaos in Tejas, Rites of Darkness and Austin's anti-ACL, Fun Fun Fun Fest, we feel the Lone Star State has got the lock on kickass music festivals and and you're really missing out if you haven't made the trek down for at least one of them.If you're fortunate enough to make it to Austin this
Jay Ruston photo by Josh Reeder; Brian Posehn/Brett Anderson photo by Susana Capra Producer, engineer, and mixer Jay Ruston loves a challenge. He's the guy whom Anthrax hired to save their troubled Worship Music album. He's the guy who spit-shined their Sofia Big 4 performance for DVD release. He's also the dude who helped silly [...]
Fun Fun Fun Fest sort of revealed five of the artists playing the festival this year. The fest will take place from November 4-6 at Waterloo Park in Austin, TX . Watch this video to figure out who the five artists are, though You may want to use this guide for help. If you don't have the time to figure it out, we've listed the artists along with the embedded video below. Also, all of Brian Posehn 's (hint) tour dates are listed [...]
This morning, MetalSucks' own Corey Mitchell made Vince and myself aware of Andrew O'Neill, who, as the headline states, is an occultist transvestite black metal stand-up comedian from New Zealand. And having now watched the below video (in which O'Neill even dons an Altar of Plagues shirt) from the BBC, I don't actually think the dude is [...]
