This was my first Bonnaroo experience. I seriously doubt it will be my last. Arriving in sweltering heat, with surprising little traffic on the first day of performances. I realized that I'd forgotten to re-stock on sunscreen, so what I'd brought had better last. There's nothing I love more than a music festival. Actually that's a lie, however I do enjoy them immensely. Bonnaroo is up there amongst the world's best, and in North America its main opposition seem to be Coachella and Lollapalooza. Now although Bonnaroo doesn't have live holograms being streamed online in the middle of a desert (helping the rest of world get familiar with an area of California named Indio) and it isn't based in Windy city, it is holding it's own further south east in the city of Manchester, Tennessee. Among those expected to join previously-announced headliner Aziz Ansari include Steven Wright, Marc Maron, Reggie Watts, Brian Posehn, Judah Friedlander, Garfunkle & Oats, Rhys Darby, Amy Schumer, and Men at Work frontman Colin Hay. Set for June 7-1oth in Manchester, Tennessee, the festival boasts Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, The Beach Boys, Bon Iver, and many more on its music lineup. Big fun, if not fun×3, this past weekend in Austin at the Fun Fun Fun Fest, a mixture of musical (and other) entertainment staged supposedly as an alternative to the bloated, self-important Austin City Limits festival.
