The new FX series 'The Bridge' starring Demian Bichir (Savages) and Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds) is due to premiere this July. The series centers around two detectives both investigating a case of a serial killer who has been dumping bodies near the U.S./Mexico line. Detective Marco Ruiz (Bichir) is working out of Juarez, Mexico and is teaming up with Detective Sonya North (Kruger) who is working out of El Paso, Texas. Ruiz is one of the only good cops in a careless Mexican homicide unit, while North seems to be struggling internally with a mental disorder. Together they should be quite the tandem. Look for this [...]

Suicide Sundaes - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen, Sunday is back. Greg is here to bring you the week's dirty servings, and some old favorites through a throwdown-throwback to simpler times. A time when bangers were big, remixes were bigger, the bassline bled, and we didn't care about anything as long as came in kicking and left screaming. This week we have so many great tracks for you it will be hard to single out some of the best, but here it goes. First, I would like to make a special mention of [...]

Every SXSW ends up with the same dilemma for a writer, of how to really enjoy one’s self and see good bands while still writing down what you see. And the answer is that you can’t be in all places at all times. So it was with a heavy heart that I missed the Grand Ole Echo showcase so I could interview Dead Angle and eat some deliciousness at Counter Culture. I tell ya, nothing lightens a heavy heart like some jalapeno cornbread. One [...]

Back in 2011 Baltimore's The Bridge announced that they would be breaking up following a Thanksgiving Eve performance at hometown venue Ram's Head Live. The band were together for ten years and were known for their fantastic live shows. At the time, The Bridge revealed they were victims of the bad economy and could "no long sustain ourselves as a band," there was no talk of any personal issues. Since The Bridge's "Last Waltz" on Thanksgiving Eve '11, they've proven they can't quit each other as they reformed for a slot at last summer's All Good Festival, a [...]

Construction began on January 5, 1933. The project cost more than $35 million. The Golden Gate Bridge construction project was carried out by the McClintic-Marshall Construction Co., a subsidiary of Bethlehem Steel Corporation founded by Howard H. McClintic and Charles D. Marshall, both of Lehigh University. Joseph Strauss remained head of the project, overseeing day-to-day construction and making some groundbreaking contributions. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, he placed a brick from his alma mater's demolished McMicken Hall in the south anchorage before the concrete was poured. He innovated the use of movable safety netting beneath [...]

Doing it for the South West of England, Bridges are taking their catchy indie rock n' roll tunes on tour for the first time this March/April. Listen to the 'Bridge So Far' EP from Benoit & Sergio.

D. Bridge comes to RH out of Milwaukee, a city that has quite a number of solid and emerging artists. Bridge signs up a couple Chicago cats for "Origami", a pretty dope new cut that features Michael Anthony, Gerald Walker, and Chance The Rapper. Just as its namesake, the song takes multiple forms, being shaped a bit by each artist who employ tactics from Bone Thug like flows, to singing. Listen and download below.

As a kid, my Mom once made me take an origami class. It actually wasn't that bad, but I regret to say I didn't take any of those skills home with me. Luckily, years later, I'm able to post a song about it. A nice consolation prized I'd say, no? This comes from Milwaukee native D. Bridge's forthcoming mixtape, Legendary . Get your roll fold on.

No your eyes do not deceive you, this is a second Dave Hause session. Recorded on the same day as the original, Dave performs 'The Bridge' during his soundcheck at the O2 Apollo in Manchester. Originally recorded by his band The Loves Ones, 'The Bridge' is a favourite amongst fans and is one of the few songs from the band's catalog that Dave performs during his solo outings. Dave's rise in popularity in recent years has some calling for a Loved Ones resurgence. Will we see one in 2013, who knows?

Red House Painters: Rollercoaster - It's a December afternoon last year, and I am twitching. Sitting in my work break room, I cannot concentrate on anything my boss is going over with me, these are things he wants done today. I am however, blank and void. All I can think of is an airplane. Acceptable credit card debt limits moments from being fragmented and ruined. Why? Because today I will board a plane, buy a ticket I never expected to buy, and speed towards an expeditious and bleeding humiliation. Today my affections will finally overthrow my logic, gag fear [...]
The conventional wisdom is that if you've got 4 ladies & a dude in a band, you've got a girl group. Well it may have taken a few years, but Jeremy Byrd has slowly worked his way from behind the drums to the front line, & Travelin' Band is the first song that showcases his many talents. The song peers deep into the canon of rock & roll, pulling ingredients from Fleetwood Mac, Simon & Garfunkel, & even Chuck Berry & Jerry Lee Lewis, but still sounds thoroughly modern, perhaps even urgently so. The Nashville transplants have been stretching out [...]
