Happened upon the St. Louis trio of Britches awhile back when they had a five song online demo up for download. Admittedly I didn't give them much thought afterward, but then this album showed up late last year and happily gave them another go around. At the very least the demo was oddball enough to warrant it. They seem to have a recurring thing with incorporating the word "demo" into the name of their releases, this one being Demonstration and the previous release titled Democracy. I assume that these aren't just cleverly named demos [...]

Marty from the ' Britches ' just sent over a five song EP, appropriately it's name is 'Demo' because more or less it is one. They were recently featured in the RFT's A-Z blog and joined local St. Louis label HiFiOctopi. So far, their listeners have described them as experimental/noise(y) rock. Also, their fans have said they sound similar to Liars, Deerhunter, HEALTH, No Age, Xiu Xiu. Some of the group's main influences include Pavement, This Heat, Suicide, Silver Apples, Brainiac, early Blonde Redhead & Tom Waits. The EP is available for free digital download below, as [...]

Hailing from St. Louis, Britches is a 3-piece act ( with mad photoshopping skills ) who play a screechingly loud, cacophonous brand of hard rock that I don't usually associate with the Midwest these days. ( Though that's probably more my being under-informed than any reflection on the current Midwest scene ). The songs on Demo , their new free EP available on bandcamp, draw as much, if not more, from noise/experimental bands like Liars or even This [...]
Formed a year and a half ago in St. Louis, Britches make a completely destroyed noise/experimental brand of rock. Their debut EP, entitled Demo, is not bound by general songwriting rules. There's not much in the way of verse/chorus/verse or structure, and that seems to be just how the band likes it. They're not past...

hailing from st louis, misery, britches is a noisy lot, but not a noisy where you think to yourself "what the fuck is this?" thats at least what i think to myself when i listen to experimental-ish bands. they released a 5 song demo, which you can download for free , back in september. i, of course, have not listened to the entire thing, but i dig this song quite a bit. if you be a fan of early, early pavement, silver apples, braniac, animal collective and health, you should find these young lads to your liking. [...]

Here again is a short round-up of some of the better new releases we've come across recently. Once again, they all deserve more in the way of a narrative, but time can be a hard taskmaster on occasion. First up is the rather strangely named EP's Trailer Park and their strangely compelling folk song tribute to Mario Vargas Llosa - this year's Nobel Laureate in Literature. Download EP's Trailer Park - Did You Know That The Name Of My True Love Was Vargas Llosa? mp3 [...]

A little rough but rife with harmonic noise, Britches gives you a break from clear-cut formulas and allows you to just feel . Thanks to wonders like Bandcamp, you can download their demo EP for free and determine for yourself if they have the potential to be future headliners. I can see it happening: the sway and riotous mosh of picking up on all those tender frequencies. "On the Inside," the second track on the five-track release, can also be heard above and grabbed below so you can test out your [...]
St. Louis' Britches have released a five-song demo that is currently available on their bandcam page. The demo features plenty of experimental noise rock, which at time they even seem to be playing two songs at the same time. The songs are rough since they are demos but...
