Photography by ME !!! I love I love I love I love my calendar girl!!! Indeed! Ah, the calendar girl.... an infactuation, crush, purely one-sided relationship that last about one month, maybe a little longer depending on how often you actually look at your calendar in today's app-eat-app world. Much like Isabella in our cover art! How many young lads & ladies will gaze into her eyes, swoon, only to fall in love with Tiffany or Nina [...]

My destination. My intention. Ask my opinion. But no excuse. My feelings still remain. Souvenir (OMD cover) by Brittle Stars
Elephant Parade Playing right after Sweater Girls on the first night of the Popfest, we've got Elephant Parade . Estelle (of the wonderful Brittle Stars) and Ido play sparse, hearfelt pop songs with acoustic guitars and minimal electronics. Their first self-released record, appropriately titled Bedroom Recordings , is sweet and sad and well, mostly its all about love — a reasonable enough subject for boy/girl duo singing like they're whispering into each others ears. They're currently at work on a new record, so keep lookout for that; I'd imagine they'll probably be playing quite [...]

I just recently found out Elephant Parade , the new project by Estelle from The Brittle Stars (arguably the best band to ever record for Shelflife Records ). The band have a new album coming out soon, but this tune is an utter classic that belongs in a movie soundtrack. Enjoy. Elephant Parade - " For You ". Brittle Stars - " This Trip ".
I've run across a couple of covers of the 80's synthpop classic Souvenir by O.M.D. I have a love/hate relationship with covers. They can either by fantastic or completely horrible. They're rarely just OK. I found one by Brittle Stars and one by Amiina. I've ...

Don't they look peaceful lying there in the grass? I think I need to do some of that too. Elephant Parade is Estelle and Ido . This dreamy pop duo combines super laid back whisp-ish vocals with acoustic guitar and fun catchy Casio/piano melodies. You can definitely listen to this music while laying down in your favorite park, I promise it'll be worth it. Based on some of their show pictures , they sit right next to eachother playing on the same keyboard, which is totally rad. They toured briefly [...]
I've always had a soft spot for Brittle Stars, a late-90s indie pop band from Gainesville, Florida that broke up far too soon. With just one album and one jumbo-sized EP (twice as long as the album!) under their belts, Brittle Stars don't have a lot of material out there, and their former label, Shelflife, is going through a reogranization that may have thrown both those releases out of print. But should you manage to track them down, you'll find some classic indie pop tracks, well before indie meant Bloc Party and Interpol. For starters, the name Brittle Stars perfectly [...]
