This is time for WTF reactions. BRMC came out with an album full of instrumental, ambient works. Ok, ok, this happened as a 'statement' or something: this is their first independent release and is only available only. This can be seen as a reaction, same as Radiohead's or NIN's but it's BRMC. They don't have 10 albums behind their backs and they are not legends...yet. I know that this kind of move has two typical effects on those who listened to the album: 1. they like how the rock band has a 'deep' 'vision' about 'art' and [...]

When Black Rebel Motorcycle Club announced an upcoming independent release in the last week of October, I was pretty psyched. I am a huuuge BRMC fan; pretty much loving every single album they've released so far. BRMC perfect genres such as garage, soul, folk, psychedelic, and blues, are mind-blowing when they perform live, and understand the intimacy needed in music. Understandably, I'm probably being too romantic about it all, but they are just too awesome for words. The Effects of 333 was released on November 1 (333rd day of the year-go figure). It [...]

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have shocked fans with the announcement of a new album which is now available to download. The album, ' The Effect Of 333 ', can be downloaded on the band's site brmcdigitaldownloads.com . The ten-track album is completely instrumental and features no lyrics. The release marks the band's first independent release without a record label. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club "As our first [...]
Well this album came out of nowhere, musically and otherwise. On October 27, 2008 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club announced via their Myspace blog that they were going to release their latest LP: 'The Effects of 3332 - a completely instrumental album available via digital download independent of any record company. So being a big BRMC fan I put on my black shirt, leather jacket and jeans, paid $6 expecting a mind blowing follow up to last years Baby 81, the result however was something completely different... With their first 2 length albums BRMC has been known as a [...]

After checking my source for leaks yesterday night I was surprised and excited. I had totally forgotten that God Is an Astronaut had another album coming out. They were in on my heavy rotation for Sleeping/Chilling music earlier this year. I was also suprised to find something new from "BRMC . I honestly can't remember hearing about this but it is an instrumental album they have been working on for the last three years or so. New music on Monday is great.... Black Rebel Motorcycle [...]

In a cryptic message to their fans entitled The Effects of 333, L.A. band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club revealed little more than a picture (presumably an album cover) and a title. Five days later on October 29th, we were informed that they had a digital-only, instrumental record in the works to be released the day after Halloween. And with a bevy of '3s' as its thematic premise. Seeing as how I'm a fairly avid fan of both BRMC and Halloween (though the jerk-off who jacked my candy on Prospect St. in 1989 spoiled [...]
The Decibel Tolls' Super Swingin' Mix is, like, a fuckton of MP3s in a single post focused on a particular genre or theme. The songs sequenced are meant to be listened to, ya know, as a mix. Hence, it's recommended that you enjoy each song in order without commercial interruption. So you should hit Apple + T (or Ctrl + T for you, egad, PC users) on that shit, throw some D's on that bitch, and keep the MP3s on this page rockin' whilst you browse whatever it is you browse on the Internets. Rotate [...]
Check out the new review of Saturna's Some Delicious Enemy in Twangville . Todd says, "Hints of BRMC, The Tender Idols and Primal Scream abound on Saturna's new album Some Delicious Enemy . Lush guitars, delay and feedback mixed with pulsing drums make the Portland, Oregon band a great find for fans of Brit-Pop." Thanks to Indie Dance Floor for including an mp3 of Saturna's Pop Rocks along with amazing songs from Goldfrapp, Nick Cave, The Long Blondes, Cut Copy and tons more.

At one point early on in Sunday night's The Sopranos ("The Blue Comet,") special agent Harris says to Tony about the weather, "End of times, huh? Ready for the Rapture?" After what soon followed in this penultimate episode, that comment feels almost not apocalyptic enough to encompass all the carnage that ensued. It was an explosive and powerful episode that sets up a series finale that's sure to be talked about for ages (and consider that your spoiler.) It's something else, though, that Agent Harris confides to Tony [...]
Every now and then a band that wears thier influences like The Black Angels makes us stand up and notice. The Austin based band has Velvet Underground influences written all over them. Right down to the band name. Thier new disc, Passover is really good rock and roll. And I dont say that much. So far this is one of the better rock albums Ive heard this year. If BRMC had taken a turn for the darker instead of the folk trip, they might sound like this. [...]
