[ download ] [tweetmeme] "Leaving On the 5th" by Orange County quartet Voxhaul Broadcast is all about forward momentum, both lyrically and musically, and the struggle to slow that momentum down, no matter how futile that effort might be. The lyrics tell the story of two people on the eve of one's departure, pausing for one last night together before they never see each other again. Whether it's a one night stand between strangers, a long-time couple's final parting, or two friends getting together [...]

If my friend's Facebook posts and videos were any indication, Voxhaul Broadcast made a splash at SXSW. So much so, in fact, that Huffington Post called them one of the top SXSW bands you haven't heard of yet...well if you read the Deli, you have. The band is back safe and sound in LA, and to coincide with the release of their album Timing is Everything, they'll be performing in-store at Amoeba Music on Sunset Blvd at 7pm, tonight 3/22. To coax you out of your cozy warm homes, the band is giving a copy of [...]
Wading through Timing Is Everything is a bit of a chore, as the album doesn't know when to quit when it's ahead. You can play a game with the debut full-length from the Los Angeles-area group Voxhaul Broadcast called Where Did They Crib That Idea From? "Blackout" generates the general vibe of a sped-up version of the Morning Benders' "Promises", and when singer David Dennis sings on "Steal the Diamonds" that "You steal the diamonds from the sky", you have to wonder if he advocates taking them from Lucy. There are times, too, that the band recalls...

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News In their second-to-last SXSW show (of seven) Voxhaul Broadcast spiraled through a brief set at the PureVolume House. With no time to waste, the Orange County, Calif. quartet filled the next 25 minutes with six songs, mostly from their debut -- 'Timing is Everything' -- even sharing one story about a bad trip that inspired a great song. Just two days earlier at the band's Filter magazine showcase, singer David Dennis, whose semblance to the later singer Jeff Buckley up [...]

This weeks Invictus Pick are my buddies Broadcaster from Providence RI. You see, me and frontman Chris McTernan grew up in the same town. Did we hang out? No. Somehow, I got lumped in with the cheerleaders and he was in band. Thats how it goes, right? But one thing I think it's safe to assume is that while we were in junior high we most likely listened to similar music. I can hear Built To Spill influences with this track "Passerby" off their new EP. It was nice to [...]

" You're either in Sheen's Korner or you're with the trolls ...." This could have been web2.0 genius but instead it was just embarrassing, sad and maybe worst of all, kind of boring! His entourage is pathetic too! BTW: Simon Rex??! Formerly of MTV ??! This train wreck might have just jumped the shark?
