Tearing the digital envelope off the Filthy Dukes new EP 'Messages' I was overwhelmed to see not one, not two but THREE Kris Menace mixes (Edit, Mix and Remix.. go figure?) and of all things a Brookes Brothers (da-rum and bass) mix as well. To be honest, I don't put much stock in awards shows like this. There's too many "sounds" and subjective cats online to truly decipher who the "best" in Drum & Bass is in any given year. Some things are undeniable... Chase & Status definitely deserved their awards (I definitely enjoyed More Than Alot ), but I think "Tear You Down" from Brookes Brothers was THE tune of 2008. Was Annie Mac truly the best female DJ in 2008 for DnB? I wouldn't say so, but I'm a supporter of DJ Flight . [...]
