AUTOMAT -Droid (1978) BENTON BAPTIST - Looking good (1982) [...]

A couple of Tee Scott mixes here including Jazzy Rhythm my favorite Arthur Baker/Michelle Wallace collaboration . In lieu of writing a long winded post on this already well documented artist, Black Shag pointed me to this bio page complete with an excellent 1994 interview conducted by a young Danny Wang a year before his untimely death. Michelle Wallace - Jazzy Rhythm (Tee Scott Mix) Brooklyn Express - Sixty-Nine (Tee Scott Mix) Brooklyn Express - Burning Hot (Tee Scott Mix) [...]

It's been a while since I posted some rare (and very long) disco tunes, so I decided to change that today. First up is a cover by Chaplin Band of Italian Lucio Battisti's masterpiece "Il Veliero". Then you have an extravagant disco anthem by super-diva Amanda Lear. And if you wonder where you heard that sample in Karen Young's "Hot Shot", it is from Daft Punk's "Indo Silver Club". Ok that's all from me today, now I need to recover from a very long night.... Chaplin Band - [...]

Can you say "Spank" by Jimmy "Bo" Horne? Because that's what this song essentially is after the Madness sample. Cut, slice, mix it up-oh no! "Sixty Nine" (69) by Brooklyn Express mixed by New York's Tee Scott. Brooklyn Express - Sixty Nine

ENJOY! Photo courtesy of Luna Park on Flickr Runaway - Shadows Dug this one up from 2007 after getting my hands on Runaway's Brooklyn Club Jam which was just released on the Rekids label. I hear the first pressing of that 12" has recently sold out. Moving on, this is probably one of my favorite edits which could be a testament to Jacques Renault and Marcos Cabral's talents, taste or a combination of the two. [...]

A brief diversion while I muster up the energy to keep going through the Deep Heat series, this time it's the turn of the Warehouse Raves series from Rumour Records. Again, a nice snapshot of music of the time, but where this one varies from Deep Heat is that it is focused on full versions of tracks Starlight - Numero Uno : As previously mentioned, this is from the wave of Italian sourced house that washed over the UK led by Daniele Davoli aka DJ Lelewel. Other notable releases from Daniele and his extended family [...]

brooklyn express - sixty nine (mp3) after being struck down with 'man' flu this week, im going to keep this short and sweet. i believe the reason for my flu pandemic, is thanks to me (and friends) going slightly over the top with the party celebrations at the fantastic homo electric last friday. don't have many memories from said night, but this track is definitley one of them. not played it out, or heard it out in a while, so i thought i'd dust it down for your listening pleasure. oh and for anyone [...]
