![Prins + DCUP [2 For 1 Wednesday]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3046700_lg.jpg)
Before we get started, none of these tracks are new. I've received a bit of flack from readers in the past when I don't clearly clarify when a track was made. So sorry to those hoping for some new Prins and DCUP to grace A/N. Honestly, between teaching and tutoring I just haven't had a few extra days to clean out the inbox. I will be doing that very soon. In the meantime, we've received tons and tons of snow around Toronto. These tunes are perfect for this kind of weather. They are soft, sensual, a little bit emo, and [...]
The Swedish band Brotherhood of Broken Hearts is one of the many good artists we have presented on our EardrumsPop-compilations (- on "Birdsongs, Beesongs" with the fine " Together Lonely" ). The band has a new single out now, "Aeroboy" , - a really nice, upbeat popsong with electronic beats, melodic basslines, handclaps and a lovely chorus. The song is free to download from the band's website http://bobh.se/ . Brotherhood of Broken hearts - Aeroboy

I'm continuing my RIP series. These are Swedish labels that clearly didn't have a huge impact commercially but I'd argue that they were influential. Yellow Mica is the label that spun off from the band Javelins (formerly The Faintest Ideas). As you can tell by a quick perusal of the songs below the label had an affinity for lofi indie rock and pop and the occasional punk. Like Vapen & Godis from yesterday I like this label because they had a certain sensibility and they generally clung to that despite the outcomes (ie commercial failure). [...]

New Dept. arrived last Friday. I was lazy, only just got around to listening to it and HAWT DAMN it's a goodie. I don't really dig the rest of Dept.'s catalogue. It all feels a bit derivative, not really adding anything new to the ever expanding neon procession of Australian electro-lytes. But this is great. They've remixed a track by Sydney's The Jezabels who are making mid to large size waves around town. Be sure to check out the original .. swelling, heartfelt tune with stomping piano and accusatory lyrics that [...]

There is a new sound, and style flowing through the blogosphere much like swine flu throughout Mexico (too soon?), anyway it is the term of Nu Wave Disco. In all honesty I am not too sure why this new bloghause sound has been described as this, as it does not take any of the traditional sounds from the original disco hits of the 7os, it may come from the fact that you can chill to it, whether its on a summers day, in a club or at a bar. When listening to all these fantastic artists such as [...]

i have been sitting here for the past hour or so trying to work out why the hell i havent been swept up in the phoenix / yyy hysteria. i love those bands- i have their new albums. why the hell arent i listening to them? why the hell arent i listening to them at the same time: sound-off style? theres even a new(ish) kris menace album that should be joining the sound-off. whats wrong with me? chaz jankel . he has me tangled in a world of funky 80's pop. bah. back [...]

Brotherhood of Broken Hearts started out as one of these Swedish duo's that I've covered so many times before on Swedesplease but it turns out neither of the the two guys could sing, so they signed up a friend and became a trio. Besides the demos on their page the band is also part of the new Yellow Mica compilation Wearing Our Punk Rock Hearts On Our Sleeves . The band does a nice cover of The Dils punk rock classic "I Hate The Rich" from 1977. Here' s a demo and a song from [...]
