"Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," has been a staple of Bruce Springsteen's live shows in November and December for years. Currently it his the second to last song in his show, a nice send off for the holidays (as if seeing Bruce was not enough of a gift already). While there is an "official" live version was released as a single in 1985, this version comes from a bootleg of Bruce and The E Street Band playing San Fransisco's Winterland Ballroom in 1978. The "Winterland Night" concert was one [...]
While it remains to be seen whether or not Conor Oberst was serious about hanging up his Bright Eyes moniker, the wordy singer-songwriter has decided to revive his old side-project - Desaparecidos . The politically charged, punk-y hardcore band have only seen sparse action over the last decade since the release their lone studio album Read Music/Speak Spanish all the way back in 2002. This past summer Oberst dusted the band off, releasing the single MariKKKopa / Backsell , which took aim at Arizona's controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the state's immigration laws, as well [...]

On the very day that a friend announced he’s off to seek a better life in the Land of Opportunity, the RDS is bulging with a positivity and can-do attitude that could only be imported from the US. This is good news for everyone stuck here and getting sick of bad news. One of that country’s most cherished sons, its great healer and all-round daddy of rock ‘n’ roll Bruce Springsteen is bludgeoning the phantoms of Brian Dobson and Joe Duffy for the second night in a row with sixteen talented mates. Even Gerry Adams has turned up [...]
In Dublin for two shows as part of the E Street Band, Steven Van Zandt will be hosting a special edition of his popular Underground Garage radio show on 103.2 Dublin City FM live from Tower Records , Wicklow Street at 7pm tonight. This won't be the guitarists first time broadcasting from the Dublin store, having attracted a crowd of over 3,000 people throughout the afternoon in 2009, including members of the E Street Band, and featuring music from some of Steve’s favourite bands on his Wicked Cool label.
