Mr. Folkie and I finally saw the movie Juno weekend before last. It is certainly very cute and a must-see, and now it has won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Buddy Holly died this day in 1959. The plane crash that claimed his life (as well as Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper) when only 22 years old, had far reaching effects in the world of rock and roll music. Over the weekend, I picked up one of those cheesy (though very convenient) " 20th Century Masters " compilations for Buddy Holly. Not one song on this collection reaches the three-minute mark; True Love Ways at 2:51 is the longest.
