Three weeks ago we brought you news that David Crosby and Graham Nash this spring will embark on an eight show run, but now Crosby is spilling the beans on another long-awaited tour. Speaking of a Buffalo Springfield reunion, “I know they’re going to go out for at least some dates in the fall. Personally, I’d like to go watch. They’re one of my favorite bands.” While Crosby may not be authorized to let the cat out of the bag, Buffalo Springfield guitarist Richie [...]

David Crosby , a longtime friend and collaborator of the aforementioned, spilled the beans to Rolling Stone on Thursday. "I think he is excited," Crosby [...]
Ever since Neil Young 's Bridge School Benefit featured the first performance in 42 years from a not-so-little band called Buffalo Springfield , the Internet has been aflame with rumors of a full-fledged reunion tour. Now, a fall tour looks to be almost definite, according to band friend David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, and Nash. "I think it was a very pleasant experience for Neil and Stephen [Stills] both. I know they’re going to go out for at least some dates in the fall. Personally, I’d like to go watch. [...]

If you don't want a secret to come out in the open, you best not tell legendary musician David Crosby. Crosby spilled the beans about Buffalo Springfield's plans to tour this fall to Rolling Stone before he started pitching himself and a Byrds reunion to the writer as an opening act. Buffalo Springfield reunited in October for two transcendent sets of music at band member Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit and shortly thereafter Rolling Stone reported that talks were underway for a tour. Buffalo Springfield was the most influential folk-rock or country-rock group, however you want to describe them. It's a shame they lasted only a couple of years. The group was and still is among my favorites.

On their recent iTunes session, Metric recorded a cover of Buffalo Springfield's ' Expecting To Fly '. Although Emily Haines ' vocal is pretty much unmistakable the sound of this track is a real diversion from the norm for Metric. Much more delicate and (for lack of a better word) pretty than much of their other stuff. I still prefer the 'Combat Baby' [...]
Check out the video for Metric's cover of Buffalo Springfield's "Expecting To Fly." The song is part of the iTunes Session that was released earlier this month.

In case you're not in the know, Metric released their Metric iTunes Session on January 4th, an eight track collection of odds-and-sods must-haves for fans, plus an interview with the band. Check out the new video and get Metric iTunes Session here .
Their cover of "Expecting to Fly" is far out, man!
I was in Chicago the weekend of 11/19 to see DJ Shadow with Pigeon John at Park West. My friend Erik came along. Before the show. We both walked out with some good finds. Here are mine: The Moody Blues - Caught Live + 5 (2 LP, London Records, 2 PS 690/1, 1977)($2.99) Kind of a controversial album in the Moodies catalog in that it was released without the band's permission. The "Live" part was a concert recorded in December, 1969 at The Royal Albert Hall during the To Our [...]
Back in 2007, the BBC Four produced a documentary called Hotel California - From The Byrds To The Eagles that traced the history and lineage of Laurel Canyon's folk and country-rock scene as the title suggest - from The Byrds all the way up to The Eagles. The entire doc was recently uploaded to YouTube and features some fantastic archival concert footage as well as new interviews a bunch of the scene's major players such as David Crosby, Graham Nash and David Geffen. The YouTube player is set up like a playlist, so when the first [...]
A little over three weeks ago, this little band from the '60s named Buffalo Springfield played a one-off gig. Only they’re not so little, it was their first show in 42 years, and it was at Neil Young’s musically stacked Bridge School Benefit concert. Just hearing about it surely had the word “epic” ringing in your brains. Well hold on tight, because it might just be getting even more monumental. Rumblings have begun to surface of a possible 2011 reunion tour with surviving members Neil Young, Stephen Stills , and Richard Furay. [...]
