A couple weeks back, I DJed for a Sugar City show to benefit the opening of a new art space in Buffalo. From beginning to end, the show was a lot of fun. Sharon usually suggests her home of Buffalo , where rent is dirt cheap (I'm looking more into Rhode Island , pictured above with both a beautiful skyline and a glamorous garbage can). Divine Machine is what happens when the love of analog meets the obsession of horror. And it never hurts to have one of the most talented tattoo artists in the country, Cory Cudney , taking his passion of said genre and plowing it through Buffalo, NY. One listen of any of their recordings draws so many parallels to Goblin or any other soundtracks of your typical 70s / 80s horror films. The first thing to note was that I was expecting a quiet intimate gig. I mean how popular can the ageing American's The Goo Goo Dolls be? Very, it seems. All the best vantage points are gone, the crowd preferring to go for these spots rather than try to get up close, as tends to happen with the younger crowd.
