[8tracks width="400" height="400" playops="" url=" http://8tracks.com/mixes/15538 81"] Happy Easter! I've provided the mix for this week's Sunday School. Hope you enjoy. Tracklist after the jump. Finish Your Collapse & Stay for Breakfast - Broken Social Scene : Champions of wonderful instrumentals, it would be wrong if I didn't include one of BBS's songs. Finish Your Collapse reminds me of early mornings travelling in the summer, with the bright light [...]

Ancient dimensioning systems combined human and geodetic measure, so that a building embodied, quite literally, characteristics of it's occupants and the world. We have inherited an ancient international system of measure whose numbers had geodetic, human, and spiritual meaning. The dimensions and ratios are found in the architecture of dynastic Egypt, classical Greece and Rome, medieval Europe and preindustrial Japan. Fingerbanger 1 : Miles Davis - Rated X (Doc Scott Remix) (don lowed) -- Our twelve-inch foot is such a dimension; it is 1/360,000 of [...]

When I heard this played out as "background music" to an evening somewhere, it immediately caught my ear and I had to rush over to the DJ to ask who or what it was. It took five minutes of explanation to gather something that google would recognise as Bugge Wesseltoft & Henrik Schwarz . The song is a beautiful combination of the two musician's respective genres, jazz piano accompanied by forward thinking house textures. All the components intertwine, sitting perfectly side by side. Be sure to check out their debut together if you want more explorations in this direction. [...]

What an extraordinarily heavyweight lineup for an event, and what a place to hold it. The choice of the Royal Festival Hall for this Red Bull Music Academy show seemed to be an overt indication that this was not to be your typical dance music event. In fact quite often this couldn't even be described [...]
