Two naughty songs from the 40's and 50's

Bull Moose Jackson : Big Ten Inch Record [ purchase ] I remember this as if it happened yesterday. It was 1975 and Aerosmith had just released Toys In The Attic. By the release of that album, I was already a hardcore Aerosmith fan. One afternoon my father dropped over, during which time I was playing the LP and it was on the last track on side one, Big Ten Inch Record. Now I always read the liner notes and checked the label for the writer's credits but at 19 [...]
There are certainly no shortage of Blues Music about lust or sex or both. However any suggestions I'd like to include would be welcome. Alex Hepburn - an unsigned English singer, just getting started . I include her here because she has a sexy tag on Google - and a good sound 'Let Me Roll Your Lemon' BO CARTER The lyrics say it all, leaving nothing to the imagination [...]

There are few blues songs that refer to Native Americans. I found some on the Saga Jazz compilation Cherokee Boogie : Indians and the Blues. Check out the title track by sax player and band leader Bullmoose Jackson : Bullmoose Jackson - Cherokee Boogie ( buy ) (1951) In prewar blues, Indians are often referred in verses about "Going To The Nation" and marrying an Indian squaw. "The Nation" or "the territo's" are Oklahoma, a state where the five "civilized tribes" (Cherokee, Cree, Chickasaw, Choctaw and Seminole) were deported in the 19th century. [...]

Because... There's been a recent resurgence on the topic of the death (or possible survival) of the independent record store. Like, America had National Record Store Day a month ago, which pledged to battle against death (or possible survival) of the independent record store. Then now, a documentary has just been released entitled I Need That Record: The Death (or Possible Survival) of the Independent Record Store , which will explore the death (or possible survival) of the independent record store. Gosh, sometimes my ability to perceive hidden messages totally blows me away. [...]

Have you noticed that record stores are going out of style? Today would be a good day to support your favorite shop because it's Record Store Day. Hundreds of independently owned record stores across the country are participating by offering discounts and entertainments all day long. What is your favorite record store that's still open? I go for Crypt Records in Brooklyn. But I also must mention Wuxtry Records in Athens, Georgia since that's where I first became a record hound. Other favorites are Shangri-La [...]

Oh Big Chill how you've grown. It doesn't seem like 10/15 years since I was lounging on a mattress in the Union Chapel surrounded by people in tie dye and the whiff of wacky backy at the early Big Chill club nights. Now there are bars, like the very swish Big Chill House in Kings Cross, and at the very moment this gig takes place a few thousand people are listening to three days worth of the musical descendants of trip hop at the hugely successful Big Chill Festival in the Malvern Hills. Not [...]
