Watching Brazil deconstruct Chile this evening was exhilarating if tinged with a little sadness given that the fans of the former have really been flocking to our World Cup compilation. Brazil showed they mean business and have achieved a wonderful balance under Dunga, which marries the style and panache of old with an impervious defence. Lucio, their centre half, alone has more skill in his feet that the collective effort of most premiership teams. Germany, Spain and Argentina certainly have a battle on their hands as this generation of samba footballers are displaying their innate understanding of the beautiful game. [...]
