It's always a great day when there is new music from The Black Dahlia Murder in the wild, and today is such a day. The band have teamed up with Lambgoat for a stream of the track "Conspiring of the Damned" and it sounds like more fine work from those guys. Can't wait for this ...
Louise Burns - Mellow Drama album reviews The sound of the record is broad and reverberant, as if you'd walked into a big half-empty club and heard someone with talent who hasn't been discovered by many people yet. That's exactly the case with Burns – though maybe not for long. – The Globe and Mail The ghosts of Buddy Holly and the girl groups of the 60's hover teasingly over Louise Burns' Mellow Drama, which is beautifully nostalgic in its sound and utterly modern in its sensibility. – Elle Imagine if someone had taken [...]

Rammstein brought the fire to the Air Canada Centre last night — literally. In fact, I think one of my contact lenses got singed. Lead singer Till Lindemann commanded the crowd throughout the 100-minute theatrical performance last night. This German band know how to put on a show. Since 99 percent of the North American audience isn't likely to understand the lyrics -- mostly sung in German -- Rammstein relies heavily on theatrics, including pyrotechnics galore. A spirited mosh pit formed in the centre of the floors, seeming to get [...]
Nashville country duo sings with terrific passion Keith Burns (previously of Trick Pony) and Michelle Poe form this unabashedly mainstream Nashville duet, but beneath the grooming, market trending and AOR production, you can hear real passion in their vocals. Burns sings with the husked edge of Don Hensley (and the chiseled looks of a model) while Poe has a clear, soulful tone that works both as a lead and harmony voice. Their material doesn't break any new ground – sunny days, broken hearts, the healing power of love and a man's love of trucks [...]

Birdland Return!! "Everybody's Dreaming" – Birdland. It seems Birdland are back!! In the late eighties Birdland burst on to the scene looking somewhat like a ' Midwitch Cuckoo' version of the Ramones or The Stooges replete with a frenzied, amphetamine fuelled sound. They were quickly called the next big thing by the music press, alas timing is everything and the decision to delay their debut album meant that they failed to take advantage of [...]

9/11 was suddenly thrust back into our minds last night and today as we learn the details surrounding Osama Bin Laden's death. We were collectively shaken to our core after the fall of the Twin Towers and the events of 9/11 inspired lyrics in many songs released in 2001 and the years following. Songs like "Jesus Etc" by Wilco are aural fossils of the time period, with words like "Tall buildings shake/ Voices escape singing sad sad songs" serving as subtle artifacts for future generations to explore. A decade later, The Low Anthem released Smart Flesh [...]

After last summer's lo-fi debut 'Radiate,' The Rialto Burns release the 'For The Asking' EP on 28 March 2011 - an energetic 10 tracker full of cavernous, dark moments, electrical soaring highs, and some dirty edges. "Love, loss, hope and salvation – we're trailing through 'em all," says Adam. Seen it, done it and still haven't learnt a lesson is the first insight, on "seedy but reflective" opener 'For The Asking.' Fuelled by stuttering drums and glinting guitar flecks, 'Learning To Fight' eulogises on the need to face facts and move on. "It seems quite melancholic, but there's [...]

I haven't listened to HURTS in a while, so this remix/version by Burns instantly grabbed my attention. The build up takes a mere 2 minutes to get into but when it does, it is SEXUAL. Props 514blog . HURTS- BETTER THAN LOVE (BURNS' EUROPEAN SEX VERSION) by THISISBURNS

Burns is back with an amazing remix for the Manchester synthy-pop band Hurts. After his brilliant "Mr. Blink - Gecko (Burns Start Stop Mix)" and the amazing "Teknique" EP which released 2009! It'll be in the multi-pack "Illuminated/Better Than Love" available from Townsend Records on May 9th! Can't wait to get it - I'm a FAN! Yes, you read that headline correctly, free vinyl! I know the collector in me gets excited when a band I love does limited vinyl releases, and even more excited when they give some of them away for free and that is exactly what we have right here. Cincinnati rockers The Lions Rampant are releasing a three song 45 on red wax and the first 100 are totally gratis. That's right, for their upcoming release show at Mayday in Northside, the first 100 people to show get a copy of the 45. The release was recorded [...]

Burns has done a sweet remix of Manchester synth duo Hurts, and to be honest we couldn't care less about Hurts, but we do love a bit of European sex music. It's full of trippy synths, and techno drums - definitely falls into the anti-synth pop catergory of music. HURTS- BETTER THAN LOVE (BURNS' EUROPEAN SEX VERSION) by THISISBURNS Better still the package comes with a dub version so we don't have suffer the worthless prattle of this dudes voice.

There hasn't really been a proper, er, banger(?), mix of HURTS ' 'Better Than Love', which is odd 'cos the track is crying out for one. Enter Burns who's latest offering is a deep Electro floorfiller version of the track, weaving elements of the original into an Acid fuelled Electro-House monster with some amazing builds. Burns know exactly when to hammer you with relentless arpeggios and when to slip you back into the song. Nice job! ♫ HURTS - Better Than Love (Burns' European Sex Version) [...]
