It truly takes some beating, does Californian nonchalance and L.A. trio The Gloss are palpably oozing sodding oodles of the stuff. Words is the first I've yet heard of 'em, and the rich imagery it so instantly evokes is the stuff of tousled hair soused with estival sweat; sand-encrusted toes; seasons ravaged by the sun. "Whatever – it's all the same" or so they say, as rusty jangle combines with noirish, protuberant bass and crunky drum machine though whatever it is they've got, I want to gorge heedlessly on an intense abundance of it posthaste. More of the [...]
If you wanted to join the NBA as a child, there’s a chance you wanted to be like Mike. If you wanted to be a rapper as a child, there’s a chance you wanted to be like Jay. If you wanted to be a blogger as a child, there’s a chance you had a terrible childhood. Seriously, no one wakes up one morning, and skip over Lawyer, Doctor, Firefighter, and willingly decides they’ll throw their life away to the internet. Hypothetically speaking, let’s say this low standard child exists, who does he inspire to be like? I never pondered this, [...]
Or at least that's what we've here been led to presume... PETER. are a Glasgee three-piece trading in dulcet, lo-fi pop shiners not dissimilar to those almost mechanically chinked out of Fuyija & Miyagi, who most likely comprise a Peter in there somewhere. Somewhat more conclusive, meanwhile, are the lustful to the verge of wistful vocal intonations of Sleep With Me Baby. Far from as sordid as it may first sound though arguably a little more stalker-friendly, they begin: "I wanna live in your home/ I wanna see what you do." There goes the faux baritone that [...]
Gigamesh it giving away his fantastically flamboyant remix of Junior Byron's 'Dance To The Music' for free. This has guilty pleasure written right all over it, but sometimes a naughty piece of high-energy disco pop is all you need to get your toe tapping. Head over to Gigamesh’s Facebook to grab yourself a copy.

With the third part of ' Deep Lyrics, Dirty Beats ' available for free download on 4th September in association with SBTV, hotly-tipped Byron teams up with two of the underground's most exciting artists for lead single 'Secrets .' ‘Secrets ’ sees former English teacher Byron Chadwick hook up with Ghetts and BBC Sound of 2012 nominee, Dot Rotten, for a stark warning about betrayal and deceit, all too familiar in 21st century suburban Britain. With a razor sharp wit, colorful flows and knack for honest story telling, ' Secrets ' is as gritty as you've [...]

Raised in grey, British suburbia of his hometown of Slough, MC and lyricist Byron, has been bubbling under the surface for a while releasing numerous mix-tapes and tracks. Fueled by a passion for poetry, a diet of UK Grime and Garage and a desire to have his say, he has turned his insight and frustration into something terrific. His frustration, story-telling [...]
Something about Byron 's "Don't Judge A Book" reminds me of the way Mike Skinner used to tell stories on albums like A Grand Don't Come For Free . Having said that, it's not surprise that the Slough-based wordsmith is a former English teacher. His delivery is speedy and articulate and his stories are packed with a razor-sharp wit. Byron is currently offering his latest EP Deep Lyrics Dirty Beats Pt. 2 as a free download. You can grab it over here .

Byron is a very interesting character; successful as part of Nine High in Australia, he's formerly an English teacher with a passion for lyrics and storytelling fuelled by his desire to say something about his suburban surroundings in a very raw, yet eloquent way. From middle-England Slough, this is a place that infiltrates everything Byron does and everything he says. His frustration at his surroundings and the things he sees culminate in intelligent and informed stories with an articulate delivery and razor-sharp wit. The release of 'Deep Lyrics, Dirty Beats 1' [...]
![Brandon’s TBE Digest 31 – [12.11.2011] New Jams, Remixes, & Covers!](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3922870_lg.jpg)
Artwork by Jacob Youngblood Ziegler Brandon's TBE Digest is a place where I gather up all the recent jams that are worth a listen (or 10) but don't necessarily need their own post. Here you will find new tracks by known bands, remixes, covers, and even mashups if they are interesting. My favorites of the lot are in bold . This may be the last Digest I do like this. I'd really like to take the time to give the best of these tracks the solo post they deserve. If [...]

Music is emotive. Or at least, good music is emotive. If it doesn't provoke some kind of response you can safely say that kind of tune is probably not for you. This music makes me feel so very bloody happy and carefree. It's the kind of tunes you kick back, nod your head, tap your foot and forget whatever is troubling you, maybe grab a hairbrush or an air guitar and play along mid-ironing session. Taken off The Milks ' B-Roads and B Sides EP, due out December 19th, the band blend soul, mo-town and old [...]

The prediction I made last year that Essex lads The Milk were ones to watch for looks like it's coming true. The boys have been snapped up by Sony, and are putting the finishing touches on a debut album which should see the light of day in the middle of next year. UK heavy hitters including Zane Lowe and Huey Morgan have gotten behind the boys too, spinning their latest single 'B-Roads'. Add these plaudits to a string of wild live shows (which have earned The Milk a [...]

Byron & Onra - Dance With Me Byron & Onra - Carribean Vibes feat. Julien Marc Byron & Onra - The World feat. Dal Gren It's been a busy few weeks for Onra, his US tour has caused major hype grabbing the attention of Jay-Z who featured the french producer on his new lifestyle blog Life+Times . This here's a little treat from the man himself, an album released back in 2007 with keyboardist Byron that Onra resurrected yesterday for FREE. [...]
Slough's Byron poaches A Long Hot Summer standout Beautiful from Masta Ace and gives it his rendition. Taken from the Jack Of None mixtape he put out last year.
Blunt Wun has been busy linking UK rappers who've been making moves of late. Check these exclusives he got with Mystro, Stylah, Skandal (or Rewd Adams, depending on what you feel like) and Byron for his Blatantly Blunt TV channel.

Roots Manuva has met Wrongtom and made a tune called 'Jah Warrior' . It's really cool - I love a bit of Mr. Manuva and this Wrongtom fella seems pretty dope too. They've also done a couple of remixes; one of 'Buff Nuff' called 'Rebuff' and I think it's a greater than the original, especially in the chorus. 'Bashment Boogie' also gets tickled with the remix stick and 'Basement Bogle' is definitely rather bogling - good stuff. Buy. UK Hip Hop artist QRED has joined up with US MC Brandeesh, looped [...]
