Caleb Engstrom is from Iowa. He makes very beautiful ar t and very fittingly landlocked and subdued music. His new record A Mountain or a bird, and. Is finished but not released. The record is a wondrous thing filled with Jurado-esque folk numbers, beautiful intrinsic lyrics maneuvering their way over sparsely strummed chords. Abstract tales filled with xylophone, brushed drums, tambourine, and Engstrom's slightly weathered always pleasing vocals soaring and sinking on the drop of a dime.
