Bay Area native Caleb Stone wears plenty of hats. The frequent Alexander Spit collaborator now mainly produces, though he was the drummer for death metal band Mouth of the Serpent and bass player for Professor Calculus . If that wasn't enough, he's also produced for Kilo Kish , Mike G, SPEAK! and more. As a follow up to his last instrumental tape titled SLEEEPY BITCHES, Caleb is working on PPUURREESSHHEERRMM , which he says will be more like a rap album than the typical beat tape. Perhaps most interesting about Caleb is his ability to use all his [...]

What originally drew me into listening to this new Caleb Stone remix of Future's hit-record "Karate Chop" was the hilarious cover art Mr. Stone put together for the release. Nonetheless, what really sold me was the spaced-out melodic element added on the bootleg -especially the chilling guitar riffs at the end-, giving the track a very unique spin. It also takes out Lil Wayne's verse, so that's a plus too. Shouts to Pigeons & Planes .

Future makes hits, but he does it in such an unconventional way that dragging Future songs into weird, experimental places seems strangely natural. For this bootleg, Caleb Stone flips the usual Future script. Usually, it's Future's vocals that add the melody on hooks and verses you can sing along with. This time, Caleb's backdrop brings a melodic element that consumes the choppy delivery. Euphoric, dreamy, and a little trapped out, it sounds like drugs—and it works. Listen/download below.

The west coast is in this b*tch. Producer Caleb Stone is here today with some newness in the form of 20132s first monster Cali posse-cut "SAVION GLOVER". The track features a number of up and comers in Cali's vibrant scene including Alexander Spit, Cashius Green, Speak! & OFWGKTA's Mike G.

As a huge fan of posse cuts—yeah, I know, I've said it before—I was excited at the prospect of premiering this new one hosted by producer Caleb Stone . On "Savion Glover", Stone provides the snappy, booming backdrop for the rhymes of West Coast rappers Alexander Spit , Cashius Green , Speak! , and Mike G . You really can't go wrong with that lineup or the beat, which samples the tap dancer of its namesake. I wanna ball like a young Paul Wall, indeed. You can download/stream the track below. It was [...]

Potholes has the honor of premiering Stacy and Caleb Stone 's new joint track "kil ur self". The production duo craft a haunting three-minute barrage of reversing elements (wailing vocal samples, out-of-breath cymbal crashes) and clobbering bass. It's a seriously awesome beat with a dark edge. The video, curated by Frank Pollard, looks like some found VHS footage of strippers or escorts hamming it up for the camera...or it's some strange peek into the backstage of some massive porno production. Either way, the video feels like the perfect juxtaposition with their smashing track. Stacy, who [...]

Cashius Green drops his latest track "Vodka," featuring production from Caleb Stone and Matt Martian of ODD FUTURE. Stream the clear drinkers anthem below and let us know what you think. Download " Vodka " Cashius Green SoundCloud | Twitter

While Matt Martians might be more associated with the languid, future-funk sounds of his work in the Internet and the Jet Age of Tomorrow , dude knows how to craft a straight-up, unhinged banger, too. Case in point: the beat he co-produced for West Coast spitter Cashius Green with Caleb Stone . This is pure unadulterated madness in the form of a song that will probably remain on repeat for the next 20 minutes. It also might make you down a few shots of vodka ... or whatever spirit you favor. Listen below.

If you're from the Bay Area, L.A. or Rosewood, Calif. you might already know about Alexander Spit . You might have seen him rocking his The Hundreds gear, sifting through the bargain bins at Amoeba Music or even seen him perform with his old crew the Instant Messengers. No? Yeah? Well, now's a great time to get to know more about the 25-year-old rapper/producer. On January 29, he releases his first album with Decon called A Breathtaking Trip to That Otherside , an almost entirely self-produced effort with features from Action Bronson , Mr. MFN eXquire, [...]

On his A Breathtaking Trip EP, LA rapper/producer Alexander Spit established himself as a talent to watch, crafting atmospheric soundscapes, adding a cinematic quality to his Cali-inspired raps. Co-produced by Caleb Stone (whose Sleepy Bitches mixtape had my head nodding a few months back), "Coastal / Hyperion" further exhibits Spit's ambition and taste for intriguing production, with a beat that splits team between a breezy, beach-y opening half, and a cosmically-inspired second half, all set to thumping percussion. Give it a spin below.
Alexander Spit might hold it down as an MC and a producer, but that doesn't mean he's not into getting some assistance from his equally talented friends. In this case on the breezy-turned-jazzy "Coastal/Hyperion", Caleb Stone stops by to co-produce. They make for a solid team, delivering a woozy production that complements Spit's slightly raspy and blunted delivery. Look out for his A Breathtaking Trip to That Otherside dropping in January. We were introduced to up-and-coming British Columbia producer BigCat last month when we heard his collaboration with Potholes Music's own Jay Cue . Since then, the Canuck has been wrapping up his new album, Comatose , which we're proud to premiere to y'all today. It finds him linking with a slew of artists we've posted here at Potholes, including Pyramid Vritra , Caleb Stone , and KC 2.0 , all of whom ride warm, sometimes menacing beds of synthesizers and crunchy drums. What I'm saying is that you really should hear this [...]

Instrumental tapes can be a tough sell; knowing that, producer Caleb Stone seems to have taken cues from producers like Clams Casino and TNGHT, cramming every inch of space on his mixtape Sleepy Bitches with mysterious sounds, atmospheric wails, and plenty of bass. His remix of singer Bago 's "I Forget You" recasts a sultry rejection of an old lover into a disjointed wall of sound fitted with speaker consuming low end, while opening track "HORSE DAYTONA" incorporates disjointed vocals and distorted instruments to memorable effect. Check Caleb's "I Forget You" remix and "HORSE DAYTONA" out below, [...]
Los Angeles' Caleb Stone caught my attention with a clever message sent to my LinkedIn account ... jokes. But he did shoot over a ridiculously fresh submission in Sleeepy Bitches , an EP featuring solo cuts, collaborations with Pyramid Vritra and Stacy , and a few spaced-out remixes. It makes for a superbly blunted listen, and one that you should probably, um, enjoy while being under ye olde influence. Download: Caleb Stone - Sleeepy Bitches [Mediafire]
![[Beat Tape] Caleb Stone: Sleepy Bitches](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4474563_lg.jpg)
Caleb Stone will be releasing a much larger project in the near future, so Sleepy Bitches serves as an introduction to the producer originally from the Bay and currently hailing from Los Angeles. His upcoming project, currently untitled, will included some ill left coast features from Mike G, Alexander Spit and possibly some other Wolfgangers. What this beat tape/EP lacks in weight of names, it makes up for with solid vibes, brought on by the use of varied rhythms, layered samples and laid back melodies (and a coproduction credit from The Internet/Odd Future's Matt Martian, a sign of things to come). Sleepy [...]

If there's one thing promiscuous LA debutantes cannot stand it's disturbances that cut into their 1 p.m. beauty sleep. Should one of these little bit trashy, little bit classy flappers find haven in your den, it can translate to a significant amount of quiet/headphone time and way less morning math rock mind erasers. Caleb Stone, of Professor Calculus, dedicated an entire mix of original beats and remixes to the sleepy beauties that made it to his mattress. Chilled on the icy vibes of p...

It's time to check out a bunch of the tracks I have not posted recently. These are just a few of the songs that would get their own individual posts here on GIMME TINNITUS if I only had the time. Here is the next NOT POSTED mix. Listen. Downloadables: A Ring On Every Finger (mp3) by Liars Lots (mp3) by Dan Deacon Flushing Meats (mp3) by Eric Copeland [...]
