Bossa nova had become a new craze in North America and this led to a number of album releases that were less than noteworthy. Today, Trinidadians everywhere will be celebrating 50 years of Independence from British rule and we here at Bnovamusic, felt it would befitting to present something to commemorate this. The song featured today is Lady Hummingbird's "teenage bossa nova girl." This rare 602s record combines calypso, a form of music derived from Trinidad, with bossa nova. The track manages to blends the two distinct music forms seamlessly. It's nearly 10 months on from when we first featured Gaoler's Daughter , and there are still discussions as to whether guitar music is going out of fashion. It's clearly not, so shut up.
