It was just this last weekend that your Beat Electricians got together to pay tribute to none other than the original corvette driving, San Francisco, white bread, master of the turntables and slayer of the ladies, Cameron Paul. Tim Sweeny was even hallucinating from the experience. Dogtones from Laserfunk and I were playing a gig a couple of weeks ago and met a guy named Raul who built a special antenna so that he could receive Cameron Paul broadcasts from San Francisco all the way in Sacramento. Dogtones hooked us up with these mixes. We [...]
Man this is old school mixing at its best. This folks is Cameron Paul.He started mixing in clubs in 1977. Had his first radio mix show on San Francisco's KSOL in 1983. Moved his show to KMEL in 1987 bringing his high ratings with him and making KMEL Number One in the San Francisco Bay Area. That same year he remixed Salt 'n Pepa's "Push It", turning it into a platinum record. He remixed virtually

Many people have been inquiring what the BeatElectric crew actually look like. It seems to be a real point of interest, which is a shame, as the blog was supposed to be about rare dance records and not our perceived celebrity status, which doesn't really mean anything to us as we are millionaires who live outside and above the normal restrictions and tier structure of society, but seeing as so many of you asked I'm posting the above picture of Kelley B, taken the other night at our two year anniversary party roller dance jam. This is a rare [...]
Here is another Cameron Paul jam under his Layizon moniker. This, like the other, is an odd bird packed with awesome sounds and freestyle flavor. The video inspired me to make a mega-mix of Cameron Paul produced tracks. If anyone can make some monitors like that for the Beat Electricians, please let us know! Layizon - The Ride Inside Cameron Paul - LeBaron's Janky Megamix

Cameron Paul was an Electro producer in the SF Bay Area in the 80's to the early 90's. He used to have a radio dance mix show on KSOL (which is now a miserable reggaeton station) and KMEL> He also DJed at City Nights and Studio West. He put out a few records under his own name and he remixed a lot of tracks, including Push It by Salt 'n Peppa for his own Mixx It service. He now lives in Tulsa of all places. This track from 1989 on Tandem Records is very difficult to [...]
Yo i got the ill nasal drip, and its not from putting anything in my schnose. As i get ready to head up north (chicago) i get the feeling that i really need to get over this (whatever it is) cold? i heard its nice and cool up there not to mention windy and a tad dry so last thing i need is to head up there with a weak imune system (hopes for the best). Today i'll be going a different route with the upload, no funk/soul this time. As all of you do not know i am an [...]
