The adjective "epic" is hardly ever paired with dream pop, a genre known for its subdued qualities. Fort Collins, CO based Candy Claws are changing that with "Transitional Bird (Clever Girl)". Equal parts 60s psychedelic and 80s dream pop, the track undergoes several transformations which allow the descriptor "epic" to make it into the mix as well. They combine these disparate elements comfortable without seeming like a band desperately searching for a new sound. The song is off their upcoming album Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time out June 25th on Brooklyn's twosyllable records.
