Remember back in January 2006 when I sent some of you my year-end picks Best-Of-2005 CD? And remember how so many of you mocked me and scolded me and bruised my precious feelings for putting the Cansei De Ser Sexy track Acho Um Pouco Bom on there? But now they're the Next Big Thing and you're all listening to their Sub Pop debut and dancing around the house to Off The Hook and Alcohol and [...]

When I first started Another Form of Relief, I really didn't anticipate a lot of the music that I've ended up writing about on here. Since I've started this I've included a lot more electronic music than I intended, have flirted on the outskirts of rap (albeit of the nerd variety) and now I'm going to write about some Brazilian disco. Of course, none of this is in any way supposed to be a negative thing. My point here is that this blog has opened me up to a lot of music I never usually would have [...]

Sao Paulo’s own Cansei De Ser Sexy's new debut album has been constantly playing this entire week at work. With all the great albums that were released this past tuesday it's easy for an album like this to fall between the cracks and become unnecessarily overlooked. I had only heard a few tracks over the months and i really didn't know much about this Brazilian group besides the fact that it consists of 2349872394783874 (ok five) females and one lonely male drummer (i'm sure he's not lonely though). [...]

tired of being sexxxy I guess I've waited long enough, it's time for me to start talking about Pitchfork Festival. I am really excited about this festival, not just because of the great line-up, but also becasue we are going upa week early to spend some family time with Magpie's sissy and niecey. Anyway, one of my most anticipated acts is Cansei de Ser Sexy . CSS are from Brazil and consist of six womens and one mans and have been getting [...]
If you didn't know the new Cansei de ser Sexy (or CSS or "tired of being sexy") comes out today. The record I am sure is going to be no where near any record stores in Vermont so check out some remixes. CSS is São Paulo, Brazil's provocative, freewheeling dance-rock sextet (yes they have 6 members). They are the latest to take advantage of this new Baile funk craze. They will be rolling with none other than Diplodocus this summer. If you are in the Chi-town area check them out at Pitchfork [...]
Ok Brazil you didn't win the World Cup but at least you gave us CSS. No, you HTML nerd, not Cascading Style Sheets! I mean the Brazillian boppity discoduck electro-splut Cansei de Ser Sexy, the latest band out on Subpop. Wow, they are as out there as any artsy band from Brazil [...]
i'm not one to indulge in hyperbole, but i think it's safe to say that yesterday was one of the best festa del giglios that williamsburg has seen in the past 119 years! seriously surreal, seeing hundreds of italian families mob the streets to watch about 70 dudes lift a four ton edifice. note the bishop in the center - the one with the white and green robes - as the local pastor told the assembled masses, he's a bensonhurst boy [...]

7:00 a.m. "Do you expect to get away with this?" "Shocking, shocking..." That was the little conversation I had inside my head this morning when I was trying to update MdM. Ezarchive doesn't let me upload songs at all, so I have to get creative with Monday list. Quickie: It's a playlist with little fat baseline and short bounch rythm. Something steady, lo-fi, but keeping up with the happening. It's a weekend sort of afair without all the [...]

Sorry for not updating for a long long time but I've been without an interweb connection. Fortunately panera bread has free wifi so thats where I am right now. Anyways heres a new song from this band called Cansei de Ser Sexy. Their album dosen't even come out for a while now and these crazy brazilian hipsters have already made a big splash in the music-blogosphere. So listen to this song called "Lets Make Love and Listen to Death from Above" and once again I apologize for the lack of updates. :-) [...]

This, this is great. For You Can Call Me Betty's 100th post, I can sit here just in my shorts it's so hot, the football on the telly right next to me, and I get to post about Brazil. As football posts go, it doesn't get much more exciting: in the words of Mugatu, they're so hot right now - Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Adriano and, yes, Fred made the squad, the samba boys are still (as every year) the hottest property in football - I wish I could incoporate Ronaldinho's band in there, but try as I might, they're too busy [...]
