Caribou Vibration Ensemble - Sandy Look, we're just gonna go ahead and cater to some of the local peeps to get 'em all juiced up for the Caribou show on Sunday night at Crowbar in Ybor City. Cool? But posting just plain old Caribou would be kinda expected, I guess, and by now I'm sure just about everyone's heard the beautiful and breathtaking Swim , so fuck it - here's Caribou Vibration Ensemble (Dan Snaith's 15-piece live collaboration project - featuring Four Tet, Koushik, members of Born [...]

Jess Baumung By the standards of the inherently attention deficient internet, a year can be an eternity - so it's remarkable that Diamond Rings has not only managed to sustain the interest that began last Summer with the release of his debut single "All Yr Songs", but steadily build it on both sides of the Atlantic with just three singles and accompanying videos. While it took those at home a little while to comprehend that this wasn't just the guy from local rockers The D'Urbervilles in eyeshadow, those abroad [...]

In the spirit of the recent festivities that took place in upstate New York, here's a new Caribou track from ATP 2009. From all indications, 2010 was a blast, but I would have given anything to see this Caribou show in person. Fortunately, Dan Snaith and co. are giving us the next best thing, and [...]

From The Mouth That Gives Good Head Caribou are putting out a double LP entitled Vibration Ensemble of their set at ATP this year. This song is pretty epic, just like the title: Caribou Vibration Ensemble - "Every Time She Turns Round It's Her Birthday" [via one thirty BPM ]

Ese chavo de Caribou no deja de hacer cosas, va a sacar un LP doble en vivo llamado Caribou Vibration Ensemble, y por lo pronto tenemos este track llamado "Every Time She Turns Round It's Her Birthday" . Yo ya tuve el privilegio de ver a Caribou en vivo y la verdad es que este track representa todo lo que se vive auditivamente en un concierto del canadiense. Se los recomiendo ampliamente! ♩ Caribou – Every Time She Turns Round It's Her Birthday
Caribou will release a new 'album', which is actually a live-recording of their performance in New York at All Tomorrow's Parties back in 2009. They were supported by Sun Ra Arkestra bandleader Marshall Allen, Four Tet's Kieran Hebden , Koushik , Born Ruffians' Luke Lalonde , five horn players, and four drummers on that show, so it sounds pretty awesome. The limited edition double-vinyl set will only be available at Caribou-shows (another excuse to see them perform live). A1 Every Time She Turns Round It's Her Birthday A2 Hendrix [...]

Sargent House Fans of Fang Island residing in Toronto can be forgiven for finding the Brooklyn combo's Fall touring itinerary a confusing bit of tease. Following some European dates at the tail end of Summer, they're heading out west with Matt & Kim for September, and then with Coheed & Cambria through the midwest and across Canada in October, inching ever closer to the 416 but stopping juuuuust short, wrapping things in Kitchener on October 29 (Coheed & Cambria having brought their comic book metal act to town back [...]
Caribou Vibration Ensemble - Skunks_________PHD holding Canadian mathematician Dan Snaith is Caribou. He began releasing records in 2000 as IDM'er Manitoba until he was legally forced to change his name to Caribou a few years ago. Over the last few albums he has augmented the laptops with an increasing array of organic instruments. I am a big fan. He recently put together the 16-person Caribou

While rare shows are a dime a dozen at ATP, Caribou's Vibration Ensemble , which debuted at ATPNY earlier this month, was a particularly notable highlight of the weekend. Dan Snaith's newly formed orchestra, which included members of Enon, Junior Boys, Born Ruffians, Kieren Hebden of Four Tet, and Marshall Allen of the Sun Ra Arkestra, amongst many others, was utterly majestic if not completely mesmerizing. Fortunately for those looking to relive the experience, the fine folks at WFMU , who were broadcasting live from ATP, and their friends at the Free Music Archive have made [...]

Our buddy Jared of Playtonic Dialogues covered All Tomorrow's Parties for us. It should be noted that Jared sent this to me almost a week ago and I've just been slow in posting it. Thanks again, Jared. 1:30 AM Music festivals are wonderful, unpredictable, and tiresome. After seeing Atlas Sound, I went with the family to a local Catskills institution, an Italian restaurant called Frankie and Johnny's. If the portions weren't enough of a thrill, on the way out of [...]
