Cologne's Kompakt Records has had an outstanding year this year. Found nestled alongside releases from The Field, GusGus and Rainbow Arabia is the latest, brilliant effort from London based duo WALLS . The follow up to 20102s Walls, Sam Willis and Alessio Natalizia have pushed boundaries in unimaginable directions with Coracle , and caught up with The Line of Best Fit in their favourite Broadway Market coffee spot to tell us more about it. "It's always great to tour!" says a light-hearted, jovial Alessio [...]

Late Night Tuff Guy By Stef Siepel The weekly froth! A weekly take on six tracks, most of which have recently popped up somewhere in the blogosphere. Bit of a mixed bag with a slight leaning towards house, disco, and remixes, but generally just anything that for some reason tickled the writer's fancy. Track of the week: 'Not In Love Anymore' by Late Nite Tuff Guy This is a Michael McDonald song called 'I [...]

Caribou brings back his Daphni incarnation for the 3rd time this year for the inaugural release on the new Jiaolong label. With no actual name for the EP its just called 001 and kicks off with an afrobeat remix of the band Cos-Ber-Zam . We then kick into a more funky soulful groove with "Yes I Know" with this tune maybe proving to be the most popular of the 3 tracks on offer. Last up the track "Jiao" is dominated by a rapid synth [...]

Dan Snaith, fort d'une renommé interstellaire grâce au succès de Caribou, délaisse le temps d'un single son blaze animal pour se consacrer à Daphni, son projet électronique pur et dur. On pourrait appeler ça une chiquette. 02 Daphni - Yes, I Know by Caribouband

Caribou's Dan Snaith just dropped a new limited vinyl 123 under the alias Daphni through his new Jiaolong label. It features two brand new tracks, "Yes I Know", a favourite from his early 2011 Resident Advisor mix, and "Jiao", and a remix of Cos Ber Zam's "Ne Noya" from the "Afro Beat Airways" compilation. "Yes, I Know" is definitely the highlight of the release. Give it a spin below. Daphni - Yes, I Know by Caribouband

"New disco" is what many are classifying chameleon Daniel Snaith's ulterior effort known as Daphni . Yes, I Know is wickedly surprising with Snaith warping the old school disco vibe in ways only he can. Daphni released a split 123 entitled Ye Ye/Pinnacles with Four Tet back in March 2011, this particular single being Snaith's newest material since 20102s Swim . Daphni is the alias of Caribou frontman Dan Snaith. He's done edits of tracks and also has recorded some new music, some of which has surfaced in the last couple of days. It is playfully funky and geared more to the dance floor. Delicious! Daphni - Yes, I Know Daphni - Jiao Cos-Ber-Zam - Ne Noya (Daphni Mix)

Fresh off the plane from a three month work stint in America I was asked by The Recommender if I wanted to cover Field Day in their absence. I figured that this would be a suitable reintroduction to London and it's diverse music scene. Besides, half the people in the audience looked like they thought [...]

We have returned. Muddy, bruised and half asleep, but with a renewed faith in humanity's state of nature, we survived another Glastonbury. Here's part one of our highlights reel. Ghostpoet The half-sung, half-spoken vocals of Ghostpoet had me from the off. I'd seen this MC from Coventry before in support of Jamie Woon earlier in the year and I was impressed, but not blown away, by his performance. Maybe it was the festival air or maybe it was having listened to the album again, but this time around, on a sunny [...]
