Before he release his new EP 'Death Fires Burn At Night EP' on May 2nd Carl Barât is giving away one of the tracks, 'This Is The Song', for free.

Carl Barat will be releasing a new EP next week (the 2nd of May) called 'Death Fires Burn at Night'. We've been given the go-ahead to offer this song as a free download. Called 'This is the Song', it's a far cry from his Libertines/Dirty Pretty Things work, but in a good way. Tender and heartfelt, listen and download it below.

In all honesty I've never been Carl Barat 's biggest fan, based largely, and probably unfairly, on his association with Pete Doherty (I apologise to any fans but the man annoys me!). Libertines co-founder Carl Barât has quelled speculation about possible new Libs gigs this summer, as well as sharing some of his other future plans. Barât confirmed there won't be any new Libertines shows this summer, following rumours of new live dates by the reformed band after their much-heralded appearances last year at the Carling Weekend festivals and London's Forum.
