Just got home after spending the day car hunting (I found one!) and took a little detour through town to check out all the Christmas lights. I don't feel like it's really Christmas until I've ticked that off my list. I wasn't listening to these songs at the time but I'm passing them on to you so you can use them for your own Christmas light tours. Enjoy! Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee [...]

So the house of cards that was Ireland fiscal well-being has finally come crashing down. God knows what awaits us now that the vultures are circling. Perhaps we'll again become the people that was loved the world over, happy with our lot and not trampling our neighbours to fill our boots with the loot. In the end it will take a malevolent force to bail us out and the repercussions will ripple through Irish society for a decade at least. Thank the lord then that the news came now and not in January as we've got the festive season to [...]

And here's Travis (previously 1 2 ) to tell you about his favorite Christmas song of 2009: On a whole, 2009 was not a great year for many people. One of the few bright spots is that Mark introduced me to the first new Christmas songs to enter my top 10 list in a long time. I don't usually offer up religious xmas songs, being a nasty little commie, atheist and all,... but this one by The Very Most is awfuly cute and put out by a blogger friend, Kevin over at Indiecater Records . So please do have a listen to it and pop over and fork out some cash for [...]

I'm not a big fan of Christmas songs that go on and on about snow and whatnot because it's summer here now and it doesn't snow here in winter, let alone summer! The problem is though that whenever someone attempts to write an Aussie Christmas song, it's so tryhard and embarrassing that I can't listen without cringing and feeling an urgent need to stuff a barbecued shrimp up my nose. Still, I try my best to put my prejudices aside in favour of providing you with some halfway decent Christmas songs and so you may find a few [...]
Our video of the week is also our Christmas Single of the day - it's George Bailey by Carolyn Sills . George Bailey is a single inspired by Jimmy Stewart's character in the Christmas movie staple 'It's A Wonderful Life'. The music video above, wonderfully complements our classic movie inspired offering, with Steamboat Willie style animation created by Rob Ludacer .
